Orioles Recall RHP David Hernandez from Triple-A Norfolk; RHP Koji Uehara Placed on 15-Day DL
The Orioles have announced that they have recalled RHP DAVID HERNANDEZ from Triple-A Norfolk to start today's game against the Washington Nationals. The Orioles have also placed RHP KOJI UEHARA on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 24, with a right elbow tendinitis.
Hernandez was 1-1 with a 3.95 ERA (13.2IP, 6ER) in three games (two starts) for the Orioles earlier this year. At Norfolk, Hernandez was 3-2 with a 3.30 ERA (57.1IP, 21ER) in 11 starts.
Uehara is being placed on the disabled list for the second time this season. He was on the disabled list from May 24-June 11 with a strained left hamstring. He is 2-4 with a 4.05 ERA (66.2IP, 30ER) in 12 starts for Baltimore this year.
