Orioles Wives to Host Silent Auctions June 29-30 to Benefit University of Maryland Hospital and Nick Adenhart Fund

The Orioles wives will host silent auctions on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30 at Camden Yards during the Orioles games against the Boston Red Sox. The auction will take place on the lower concourse near Gate D starting at 5:30 pm and will last until the end of the 7th inning.

The proceeds on Monday will benefit The University of Maryland Hospital for Children, which is recognized throughout Maryland as a valuable resource for critically and chronically injured children. On Tuesday the proceeds will benefit The Nick Adenhart Memorial Fund, which was established earlier this year in memory of the Angels pitcher and Maryland native, who was killed in a car accident. The Fund provides financial support to youth baseball organizations.

Auction items will include autographed game-used equipment, on-field experiences with select Orioles, and autographed jerseys from numerous Orioles and Red Sox players.


ORIOLES IN THE COMMUNITY
ROBERT ANDINO APPEARANCE AT CHICK-FIL-A
On Saturday, June 27 Orioles SS ROBERT ANDINO will make an appearance at the Chick-fil-A at Marley Station Mall. Andino will greet fans and sign autographs from 11:00 a.m. until noon. There is no admission charge to attend.

GEORGE SHERRILL APPEARANCE AT BRANDON FURNITURE STORE
On Saturday, June 27 Orioles LHP GEORGE SHERRILL will make an appearance at the Brandon Furniture Store at the Hunt Valley Town Center from noon to 1:00 p.m. Sherrill will greet fans and sign autographs. There is no admission charge to attend.

FELIX PIE APPEARANCE AT YORK ORIOLES STORE
On Tuesday, June 30 Orioles OF FELIX PIE will be at the Orioles Official Team Store in York, PA to greet fans and sign autographs. Pie will be at the store from noon to 1:00 p.m. There is no admission charge to attend.


GAMEDAY AT ORIOLE PARK

PITCH, HIT AND RUN TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, June 27, the Orioles will host the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Tournament at Oriole Park from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The top 16 qualifiers from Maryland and Virginia will compete in hopes of advancing to the National Finals at the 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in St. Louis, Missouri. Later that day, the participants will be honored in an on-field ceremony before the Orioles game against the Washington Nationals.

GIANT FOOD CHECK PRESENTATION
Before the game on Sunday, June 28 against the Washington Nationals, the Orioles will welcome Giant Food to make a special on-field presentation. Giant Food will present a check for $1.5 million to the The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University of Medicine and the Children's Cancer Foundation as a part of their Triple Winner Campaign.

ORIOLES P.L.A.Y. CLINIC
OriolesREACH, the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and the Taylor Hooton Foundation will host local young athletes for the 2009 National Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth (P.L.A.Y.) Campaign at Oriole Park on Tuesday, June 30 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Players from the 13-15 year old division of the Baltimore RBI League will spend the day learning about living a more active and healthy lifestyle and participating in drills and Q&A sessions with Orioles OF LUKE SCOTT and Head Athletic Trainer RICHIE BANCELLS. Each participant will receive a PLAY Pledge Card to sign, promising to remain active, make healthy decisions and avoid performance enhancing drugs. The PLAY Campaign was created in 2004 by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society and has conducted more than 35 events in 20 MLB ballparks.


ORIOLES/BALTIMORE CITY SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE
On Wednesday, July 1 the Orioles will host a press conference at Camden Yards to announce a major partnership between OriolesREACH and the Baltimore City Public Schools. The announcement will include a new summer learning curriculum for elementary and middle school students based on Orioles baseball. Later that day there will be a pre-game ceremony including students and teachers, and Baltimore City Schools CEO Dr. Andrés A. Alonso will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Orioles 1:35 p.m. game against the Boston Red Sox.

DOMINIQUE DAWES FIRST PITCH
On Tuesday, June 30, before the Orioles game against the Boston Red Sox, the Orioles will welcome a special guest to Camden Yards. Former U.S. Olympic Gymnast and Maryland native DOMINIQUE DAWES will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Dawes helped the 1996 U.S. women's gymnastics team claim the gold medal in Atlanta.


ORIOLES ALUMNI AUTOGRAPH SERIES
Each Monday and Thursday home game this season, former Orioles will sign autographs at the MASN Booth on Eutaw Street from 90 minutes to 30 minutes prior to the day's game. Fans should visit www.orioles.com for a list of players expected to participate throughout the 2009 season.


WEAR AND WIN
The Orioles will continue to feature the popular "Wear and Win" promotion for season plan holders. Each game, the Orioles will select a fan wearing his or her official Orange Carpet "Baltimore" gameday t-shirt to win a special behind-the-scenes experience. For the month of June, the lucky winners will win a behind-the-scenes look at two areas of the park not many fans get to see. The selected fans will spend a half-inning in the Orioles Productions control room, where the scoreboard, video board and ballpark music are operated. The winners will then spend a half inning in the Press Box, where reporters cover the game.


STEAL SECOND BASE PRESENTED BY ESSKAY
The Orioles will again feature the Steal Second Base contest for every Sunday home game this season. Presented by Esskay, the Steal Second Base contest allows a young fan to participate in a timed race from the grounds crew area in center field to retrieve second base. Fans can sign up for the opportunity at the ballpark. The lucky winner will receive four tickets to a future game, gift certificates to use inside the park, a jersey and an Orioles prize pack.


ORIOLES REACH COMMUNITY BOOTH
During each home game, as part of the OriolesREACH program, the Orioles provide a community booth for charitable, non-profit organizations to distribute information, sell raffle tickets, register participants or conduct health care screenings for Orioles fans. Group members receive game tickets, concessions vouchers, an Orioles t-shirt, a cap and transportation to and from the game. Tickets are provided courtesy of Orioles players. Players participating in the program this year include ADAM JONES, MELVIN MORA, DANYS BAEZ and GREGG ZAUN.
