Sox vs Nats = Men vs Boys

Thank God my boys have the Nats on the schedule for Interleague Play this year. These are the types of teams and series you have to win, bar none. Gotta win 'em. The Sox are 42-27, second best in baseball. They are in a soft part of the schedule. The next 19 are against Washington, Atlanta, Baltimore, Seattle, Oakland and KC. The Sox can make or break the division right here. Win 14 or 15 of the next 19 and they can blow this lead up from 4 to 8 or 9. Definitely possible.
Boston has a really good team right now, especially at home. They have the best home record at 25-10 (tied with LA) and they have won 20 of 28 against the division and haven't lost to NY yet. Love it. The Nubs somehow took a series away from NY and played well against Toronto, which says more about the Yanks and Jays right now than Washington, but Boston has had their trouble on the road. Just .500.
Boston needs to iron out the rotation once and for all. Dice K is toast in my opinion. The guy can't throw. He chose Japan over the Red Sox. That's fine. Go to the DL and then to the bullpen. Eat some tuna rolls and let's get Clay Buckholtz up and see what he has. I don't trust Smoltzy until I see 2 or 3 good starts, but everyone else is rock solid. Becks has been great; Wakefield just won't stop winning; Lester is showing why he is a top five lefty and Penny pasta has been more than impressive. The Sox will throw Penny, Lester and then let's see what Smoltzy has on Thursday.
Offensively, Papi is starting to hit. He's hit .308 this month. DP, Youk, Ellsbury, Bay and Lowell are as tough a five as you will find in the league. Everything is working, but we have to win this series. In fact, I would say anything other than a sweep is disappointing.
The Sox will face Lannan, Stammen and Zimmerman, basically, a sophmore and two rooks. Gotta beat them. I know Lannan has been solid. He's crafty. His ERA at 3.4, but get to him early and he's toast. If they can't beat Stammen and Zimmerman I'll be shocked. Washington's little nano hot streak of late ends now my friends. Boston has won 13 of 18 in June and they will stay hot. The key is to get to the Nubs' pen, which is about as good as Good Counsel HS.
I'll say it again. Every game counts, even though it's pre All-Star and we have 100 to play, but we have the Yanks down a bit now. They have to go to Atlanta, NY and Minny and LA here soon. Plus CC is banged up a bit and A-Roid can't hit his weight right now.
BIG SERIES...Lets go Sox!
Sincerely,
Dwight Evans

Sox vs Nats = Men vs Boys = Reggie vs Ernie
You could even go one further...Sox vs Nats = Men vs fetuses. Now is about the time in the season where the Nationals should feel guilty for actually asking for any sort of currency in exchange for attendance.
It's so easy to be a fan of the Sox or any team that wins isn't it! Just a bunch of band waggoners. Nats fans, you are the real fans here. Stick with this team and you will be rewarded....someday.
It's a great relationship - Sox come to town to get some wins and Nats Park actually gets some attendance with fans who cheer. Not for the Nats, mind you, but at least they cheer.
Its hilarious that you get away with posting this on a primarily O's/Nats website.
Oh wait... its not hilarious. Its a shame. Don't post this crap here. Take your Sox and post on a Boston stations website.
JP vs. Perez Hilton = equally annoying.
as a true sox fan who lived in New England all my life until 2 years ago and has been to at least 1 Fenway game a year since 1994 all I can say is Wow!!! I went to the game last night and was shocked. It was hard to find a Nats fan in their own park! This is simply a disgrace to the Nats players, I also saw the Pirates Vs Nats game, simply unbeleivable, wasnt going until I saw a scalper at the Navy Yard Metro selling face value $35 tickets for $20!!!!! Once inside the feild i realized there was noone in my row, and barely anyone in the section. The upper deck seats were more sporadicly filled however, all in all Nats fans are sorry at best.
Lurch, pick one. Would you rather:
1. Get a Jeff Smoker from Josh Beckett.
2. Find out that scare back in the day from me was true and you have a 16 year old donk.
3. Spend time with Peggy alone.
Texted you last week, penny is overrated and Clay needs to pitch. Dice is done this year but he'll be back, we honestly dont need him. Its great to see a home game for the sox in DC. Were doin what good teams are supposed to do to the nubinals unless you were pinstripes
Hey Sturch,
Want to compare pongies?
