Tough Hill to climb (game in rain delay as of 8:37 pm)
Rich Hill, a native of Boston, made his first ever start vs. the Red Sox tonight. It did not go well.
Hill's line: 3 1/3IP, 9H, 9R, 7ER, 3B, 3K, 2 HR........95 pitches, 56 strikes.
The Sox went 9 for 20 at bat vs. Hill tonight with five extra base hits, three doubles and two homers.
Hill was also rocked in his last start vs. Florida.
Hill's last two starts: 8IP, 17H, 15R, 13ER, 4 HR.....ERA of 14.62.
Hill allowed just one homer over 33 innings in his first seven starts. Now he has given up four in eight frames these past two starts.
Meanwhile, some dark clouds are over head. Could a rain delay make this even worse?
