Bergmann to be recalled
After this afternoon's game against the Braves, the Nationals will recall right-hander Jason Bergmann from Triple-A Syracuse, according to colleague Bill Ladson from MLB.com.
Bergmann, who is 1-1 with a 1.16 ERA and two saves in 19 games with the Chiefs this season, will be making his third tour with Washington this year.
In 14 games with the big club, Bergmann is 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA and seven walks and eight strike outs in 14 1/3 innings of work.
Bergmann will most likely take the roster spot of reliever Jesus Colome. Colome, who served up a three-run homer in last night's 9-8 loss to Atlanta, is 1-1 with a 8.40 ERA this season.
Colome has allowed 23 hits and six walks in 15 innings.
