Nats trail 1-0 after 3rd
Lefty John Lannan has allowed a run on three hits thru three innings so far today, but he's having trouble throwing first-pitch strikes.
Of the 11 Braves he's faced, he's only thrown strikes to five of them.
He hasn't walked or struck out a batter. Seven of the nine outs are ground ball outs, which is good. It means he's keeping the ball down.
Lannan has thrown 39 pitches, 25 for strikes.
Prior to today's game, I asked manager Manny Acta what he knows about Braves rookie right-hander Tommy Hanson and he said not much.
Hanson has now tossed 23 consecutive scoreless innings.
Here is what Acta said is the key to being successful against Hanson.
"We don't know much other than the videos and what we've seen in reports," said Acta. "He seems to have a very good arm. He pitched back-to-back good games against two first-division clubs [Boston and NY]. We're going to try to see if we can work the count on him because he seems like he's walked quite a few guys despite the success he's had. Our lineup tends to do that, work guys and give them tough at bats and we'll see if we can take advantage of that."
So far, Hanson has thrown 44 pitches, 32 for strikes.

Do you see the nationals at all doing a three team trade and we get some good infielders, outfielders and pitching?
Do you have any updates if their were any trade offers for Nick Johnson, Adam Dunn or Josh Willingham?
thanks

Sean, are you trying to fix your fantasy team that is loaded with Nats? There are too many rumors to name all of them. I'll narrow it down as we get closer to an actual deal
No i dont do fantasy baseball all i want is the Nationals to improve
