Notes on tonight's game
Brian Roberts entered tonight with just three hits in 32 at bats over his last eight games. Tonight he is 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and two runs. Roberts now has 11 doubles his last 24 games and 14 RBI his last 22 contests.
Adam Jones is 3 for 3 with two RBI. It's his 8th three-hit game of the year and his team-leading 30th multi-hit game. Jones entered tonight with just one RBI over his last ten games and just two hits over his last 14 at bats.
Nick Markakis had a sac fly in the third and now has 9 RBI in his last ten games.
Gregg Zaun is 1 for 2 with a double. Zaun has 10 hits in his last 19 at bats.
The O's lead 4-0 heading to the last of the fifth.

What in the world were Markakis and Roberts doing on that pop fly that gave the lead to the Angeles? This is unacceptable and what losing teams do all the time (Palmer and Thorne were talking about this after the play). I realize losing is the norm with this club-going on years straight now, but come on. Trembley has to say something about that one. You just cannot ignore such half-hearted efforts and lackadaisical play.
Unbelievable, as I am typing this, Bass has an error on a throw to first base. Now, Mora is not standing on the bag as Andino throws to third on a ground ball an the runner is safe(8th innning melt down because the team has packed in this evening). Thorne said it all, it is like they are trying to find ways to lose a game. Until this careless play changes, we will not win. Talent alone is not enough, however, I don't know how you change a culture of losing. I don't even Trembley trying to end this type of play.

The last few innings were a nightmare. The pop up play was awful, that can't happen with the game on the line. - Steve
Roberts also had two costly mistakes!! Roberts isnot earning his new contract and nick has hit into 2 double and he has not really looked like the player from last year!! These 2 players are very disappointing to me!! Mora -- who wants him in a trade he cant hit??? This team is really bad!!They always find a way to lose! A 4-0 lead given away and it started with roberts error! Berkin is definitely not ready for the big leagues. Even if they get a well pitched game they give it away. THANKS BRIAN ROBERTS!!!
