Jamie Moyer just pitched into the 7th, giving up just 1 run for Philly. Granted, it was against the Mets, but still. I think Moyer witnessed the signing of the Declaration, didn't he?
Rest In Peace Steve McNair #9
What, after Oscar hit that home run against the Red Sox, they sent him to Siberia?
I'm beginning to wonder if they're showcasing Wiggy.Izturis is coming off the DL sooner than expected and that's less time to get a deal done to keep from waiving Salazar.Reimold probably needed a day off he's been slumping lately but I figured they might give Pie a start. But let's face trembley can't post any line up that doesn't get some second guessing.
In response to an earlier post focusing on WHIP and ERA of Berken compared to Hernandez, Hill and Hendrickson, those stats really don't matter--wins matter. While those stats are often indicators of performance, what really matters is wins. Berken isn't getting a pass compared to Hill and Hernandez. He's 1-5 and has gotten hammered more often than not. Hill has gotten hammered a few times too, but he's 3-2 and we're 7-2 in his starts. Hernandez is 2-2 and about half of his starts have been solid. Most of Berken's starts have been poor and the bottom line is he is doing a lot worse in the stat that really matter--wins.
I would say the year is still young....so it is probably not at an end yet. :(
But roch...maybe you would know something about the Defining Moment commercials....My friends and I were wonderinf just how many people can be in one commercial at a time?
Also thats nasty about the Waffle House, the one by NC State is yummy and clean!
RIP indeed. The man was an amazing competitor--he played when few, if any, others would have. Saddened and shocked.
Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that one.
RIP, Air McNair. :o(
Can you imagine the record and outlook for the O's if the starting rotation today consisted of Guthrie,Koji,Eaton,Simon, and Hendrickson?? Geez would Dave Trembley still have his job? The outlook is so bright I need some sunglasses. I am not sold on Guthrie but look forward to the continued progression of Berken, Bergesen, and Hernandez and cant wait for the arrival of Arreta, Patton, Tillman, Matusz, and hopefully others.
Yes it does just sux......their is no reason in this world that anyone need to take someone life over any reason. Just like the shooting that went on the other day with the 5 year old girl just very sad.
Holy F_"*k! Air McNair? That killed the buzz from 6 pints of beer.
So Pie is basically the 5th outfielder?
Wow, I thought he was a 5 tool player Andrew? I thought you "see it" in him?
What's the plan with him now? 3 months ago you were talking him up as the next Willie Mays. Now he's a stellar bench player and we are to accept this?
I guess the Kool Aid drinkers will brag about how we have the best 5th outfielder in the league. That's sort of like saying we have the 5th best team in the AL East, but I guess you guys will believe any of the rubbish Andrew feeds you.
This line-up sucks. Why take away both Riemold and Weiters? I blame Andrew. Chalk up another July 4th loss on the golf course. Hope all the Kool-Aid drinkers are happy. Jack and myself told you so. Not even going to stay up late to see this tragedy.
Wow, that's just messed up! I wonder who the woman is? Was he Married? By my count that 8, should we be looking for one more?
I hope it's okay that Roch mentioned football in this blog entry...Such a sad story. What a great, tough athelete he was.
Brummie,
Don't you realize that the Rays were awful the year before they made it to the WS? And don't you realize we are on a very similar plan? AND don't you realize that the record at this time last year doesn't mean squat because they dropped a bomb in the second half. The idea is that we'll finish strong this year and that will help to propell them next year. It's not about the record when we aren't half-way through the year, it's about the record at the end of it.
R.I.P. Steve McNair
MASN commercials are plain awful.
~~Holy F_"*k! Air McNair? That killed the buzz from 6 pints of beer. ~~
Now you know how we feel when you post
~~So Pie is basically the 5th outfielder?~~
Nope. Wrong again as usual.
~~What's the plan with him now?~~
same as always. Give him as much time as circumstances allow to develop into what his physical tools suggest he can be.
~~3 months ago you were talking him up as the next Willie Mays~~
Liar. Damned Liar. Show me the quote.
~~Now he's a stellar bench player and we are to accept this?~~
No one cares what you accept. Get it through your head. You are a smarmy pissant and no one cares what you accept or dont accept. We gave up a player we didnt want. If Pie's ultimate ceiling is "stellar bench player" (your words, not mine) it is much, MUCH more than acceptable return. Every team needs stellar bench players so if that is our return on trading a player who couldnt step up in repeated opportunities with us, it was a BRILLIANT trade.
~~ but I guess you guys will believe any of the rubbish Andrew feeds you. ~~
As opposed to believing your repeated lies, mischaracterizations, and intellectually bankrupt poison pen opinions? Darn right!
~~I wonder who the woman is? Was he Married?~~
Not his wife and yes he was
