Quick Jones update
Adam Jones isn't in the lineup, but he insisted that he could play if needed.
Jones had just stopped by his locker when I ambushed him, and he didn't seem thrilled that I was asking about his health. However, as I warned him, reporters will be lining up to get the same update. He's kind of important to this team.
Anyway, Jones said his body was hurting after he collided with the fence, but the headache was the primary reason why manager Dave Trembley took him out of the game after the bottom of the second inning.
A possible head injury is automatically going to get you the rest of the night off. This isn't the NFL.
I would expect Jones to return to the lineup tomorrow night. Fortunately, he didn't separate his shoulder while trying to haul in Kevin Youkilis' home run ball.
OK, I'm heading back down to the clubhouse. Manager Dave Trembley will meet with reporters at 11:15 a.m. Hope you're having a good morning. Try not to run into anything. As Jones can tell you, it hurts.

Jones needs to be careful out there in center. He doesn't want him to end up like Ken Griffey JR (injuries), er . . wait maybe he does.

If you go to the Boston Globe...they say "fluke" regarding last night. In addition, the beat writer gleefully reports that Josh Beckett' numbers after a loss ;
.86 WHIP and a 1.06 era while posting a 5-0 record.

Yeah......thanks for the warning now Roch. Too late. I "ran into" a foul ball at my son's game last night and yes it hurt. However, nothing a couple glasses of wine and some Advil couldn't take care of!

Red suxx fans are funny. They conveniently forget that they completly sucked for, what, 85 years or so. To listen to them you'd think they had 25 championships, not 2.
