So, do you like...stuff?
Manager Dave Trembley didn't leave the ballpark this morning until after 2 a.m. He was too wound up to sleep after his club's amazing comeback.
He also was bombarded with e-mails, text messages and phone calls.
"I didn't know I had so many friends," he said, grinning. "Boy, that was neat."
Trembley said he checked out the replay of the last two innings. Isn't that the only part worth watching?

"There was 31,000 here, but I think today there's probably 55,000. Everybody will say they were here," he said.
One of the more impressive aspects of last night's win for Trembley was the way his players handled it.
"It was like, you've done it before, you've been there before," Trembley said. "You shake hands and you get off the field. There was no fist pumping and pulling the gun out of the holster. There was a little etiquette involved. Everybody was excited, and rightfully so, but there wasn't trying to show anybody up. You did it the right way. You did it with your bat and your glove and throwing and pitching and catching it, running the bases. That was neat."
The Orioles started to seriously believe they could win the game after Oscar Salazar's pinch-hit three-run homer.
"It was like, 'OK, this might happen now,'" Trembley said.
Trembley said he would have considered starting Adam Jones if this game hadn't been slated for 1:35 p.m.
Though he wanted to play, Jones admitted to Trembley that his right side was sore after slamming against the fence. The Orioles aren't taking any chances with their center fielder.
The Orioles held a press conference today to announce that the OriolesREACH program and Baltimore City Public Schools have teamed up to support education initiatives for the city's youth. The highlight of this joint venture is a new integrated summer learning curriculum based on Orioles baseball.
Nearly 14,000 students at 84 city public elementary and middle schools in summer learning will be taught math, reading, science and social studies skills during 20 hours of activities as outlined in the Learning With the Orioles curriculum. (baserunning drills not included).
The club already has provided more than 5,000 complimentary tickets to city schools.
Trembley, Nick Markakis and his wife, Christina, will visit Mount Royal Elementary/Middle School on July 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. They'll demonstrate the curriculum to 50 kids in third and fourth grade.
Keep working hard, kids, and you could grow up to be president. Or a blogger for MASNsports.com. Reach for the stars.

I was there, and I have a ticket to prove it. I can also be seen chasing after Salazar's HR in the seventh. Unfortunately, I left after that inning...
While I don't want to see anyone hurt at least now we know what has been bothering Uehara. Maybe now he can heal and then get into better shape physically.
I'd have to someone like Hendrickson will be gone this month. He has proven to be a solid bullpen guy and is LH so while you won't get a lot for him, the Orioles don't need him, especially since he has proven once again he isn't a starter.
I don't think the Orioles have any confidence in Salazar defensively so I doubt he will start much, except maybe a few games late in the season.
Other than the Markakis and Pie hip-jump, the team really did act very business-like. Georgie is a polar opposite from Papelbon. That dude would've still been on the mound til this morning screaming, jumping, and pumping his fist as if he beat the Soviets at Lake Placid. Sherrill, on the other hand, acted like "yeah... I did my job."
We were all excited to see what Rich Hill would bring to the table this spring, but is there any talk now of replacing him??? He's not getting it done and maybe Tillman or Patton would get a shot after the break???
I really hope McPhail doesnt trade George Sherrill. He's been looking like a an outstanding pitcher, one that might be able to have success in the AL East and those are hard to come by anyway you look at it. Especially for a team that can't sign any good free agents.
So Salazar is hitting the ball well, which has and will lead to a ground swell of posts calling for Pie to be cut loose (sent down, which effectively would be the same thing because he would be claimed). I'd keep a 24-year old prospect over a 30+ career minor leaguer, but I am not sure we're going to have to make that choice. Unless Huff can be re-signed for a couple of years (and it doesn't sound like they are even discussing it), I think you have to trade him. You could keep him and take the compensatory pick when he leaves, but is he defintely a type-one (or A?) free agent? Other veterans like Wiggy and Mora also are candidates, although Mora probably would veto most trades and his performance thus far undermines his value. Scott also is a possibility to be moved. Even Izturis could be. I think there will be a trade, which will leave a place for both Pie and Salazar on the team; but, if there is not, I still think you take the young guy who is the only other legitimate CF on the team over Salazar. With Wiggington on the team, I don't think you need Salazar.
Roch - not trying to stir the pot but just curious...it seemed like after Salazar's homer last night that Mora said something to him in the digout and walked off with a scowl on his face. Anything there? Sort of like a "that should have been my homer" thing?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't see it, but I seriously doubt that Mora is so petty that he'd be angry at Salazar in the dugout. - Roch
i like stuff, but i REALLY like things.
Kudos on the Simpsons reference. Ralph Wiggum to Lisa: "So, do you like ... stuff?" I think an entire Simpsons-themed entry is in order.

"I choo choo choose you." - Roch
Screw that...Trembley should've jumped on top of the dugout and done the Paplebon fist pump, i hate that puke.
I'm sure he's still riding the HR Derby title from last year but how does Josh Hamilton get so many votes for the All-Star game? Every one of the Orioles OF's have better numbers than him.
"it seemed like after Salazar's homer last night that Mora said something to him in the digout and walked off with a scowl on his face. Anything there?"
Does Mora ever look happy? My wife and I joke that he always looks so sad.
That was absolutely the biggest thing I noticed about last night: how muted the celebration was. I couldn't figure out if it was just relief, or the fact it wasn't a walkoff, or if they'd just left it all on the field, but I was very struck that, as Ryan noted, the hip bump was the only thing that looked like jubilation, and Pie's just a jubilant guy.
Then I realized that these O's know they haven't won anything yet, and they still have a long way to go, but they're determined to get there, and that's when I decided that their reaction was just right.
Roch,
I think it is absolutely amazing that the Orioles are providing an educational program. As a Special Ed. teacher, I know that anytime you can get "heroes" to support education it helps. Kudos to the Orioles!
Oh the game wasn't half bad either, lol.

Couldn't agree more - on both points. - Roch
Out of the first inning unscathed! Things are already looking up...
Math leason #1: 11 > 10 and = an O's W.
Bonehead play by Pie. Some things never change!
I actually agree with Thorne for once: No baseball instincts for Pie!
Felix! Felix! Felix!....what are you doing?....grrrrrrr
Every close call goes to the Red Sox. Pie got in there. Bulls**t call
Pie is the most frustrating player who has ever played for a team I root for. Drive in a run, get caught out at second. Go 2-3, hold the ball in the outfield to allow a runner to score. Why can't you just suck and show no signs of promise and make my life as a fan that much easier?
Roch,
Pie play close? I'm stuck following gamecast at work :(
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey man, that's what you get for having a real job. ;-) Very close play. - Roch
Roch can you tell the guys in the booth that when Pedroia tagged out Pie in the 1st he had the ball in his bare hand and NOT his glove. They missed it.
I agree with DT assessment of the team's behavior. I remember an NFL game early last season. Cleveland v Cincinnati, both teams were winless at the time. A running back for one of the teams scored a touchdown, still leaving his team behind in points. The yokel jumped and hollered as if he had just scored the winning TD in a double overtime in the Super Bowl.
Remembering the old beer commercials where guys were sitting around making up Man Rules. One of the rules should be, If your performance doesn't result in your team going ahead, there can be no celebration. The NFL and NBA is filled with egos lets keep MLB pure.
Give Pie a break DUMMIE. The guy has been a STUD ever since his mental lapse in center field!
I disagree with Thorne and Brummie about Pie's try for second today. Against Beckett, you have to take your chances, and, in fact, he was safe. The ump made a bad call.
As for Thorne...can someone show him the difference between a fast ball and curve? He doesn't remember the correct count, and can't tell one pitch from another. A guy throws a 95mph heater, and he calls it a curve. He must make 20-30 mistakes a game. Does anyone else feel this way? Truth is...he has a great voice, but absolutely no baseball instincts!
Luke Scott's last three hits might as well have been homeruns... I think he's back!
Luke Scott just hit a homer against Beckett. He might be starting another hitting streak. Felix Pie's hitting has really improved, and he did get to second base on that single. If you watched the reply, then you can clearly see that he did get in there before the tag. It was a close play but he did get in there. The umpires are just being bias.
Roch, I just found out that when Felix Pie was tagged out at 2nd base, he actually wasn't tagged. The ball was not in Pedoria's glove when he tagged Pie. He used the glove to tag him but the ball wasn't in it. Unbelieveable. The Red Sox are cheating. That was downright cheating by the Red Sox. But, it does not surprise. The Red Sox and Yankees play dirty.
I'm stuck with the gamecast as well... I'm usually not one to defend Pie or bad baserunning, but Pie is speedy and I don't mind aggressive baserunning like that early in the game when we already have a lead.
Roch, interested to hear your thoughts on O's charity work. Seems to me like they've been more involved in the community in recent years but I can't decide if its: a)because of particular players who are personally invested b) because the organization has shifted its stance to be more involved c)because they just publicize it more. What do you think?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as I know, they've always been involved. Maybe it's getting more attention lately. Or I just haven't paid attention. But they're all over the place now. - Roch
Me fail English? That's unpossible.
