Washington Nationals Donate Over 2,400 Tickets to Military Families on Fourth of July Weekend
| | Comments (0)

The Washington Nationals today announced they have donated 2,400 tickets to military families and wounded veterans to the upcoming weekend series vs. the Atlanta Braves, July 3 through 5. While the Nationals distribute tickets to members of the military throughout the season, including 19 tickets per game in the Lexus Presidents Club, this is the single largest offering of complimentary tickets to military since baseball returned to the Nation's Capital in 2005.

"It is our hope that hosting military at Nationals Park as we celebrate the country's Independence Day will become a tradition within the District, one that will grow in size and impact each year," said Nationals VP of Communications and Community Relations, Chartese Burnett. "The Nationals are dedicated to being a good community partner to all residents of the Washington, DC Metropolitan region - including the thousands of military members living in the area."

The Nationals worked with representatives from Andrews Air Force Base, Bolling Air Force Base, Ft. Belvoir, National Naval Medical Center, Pentagon, TAPS, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Washington Navy Yard, to distribute the tickets to soldiers and their families. The Nationals games vs. the Braves will take place at 6:35pm on Friday, 1:05pm on Saturday and 1:35pm on Sunday. Center Field Gates open two-and-a- half hours prior to first pitch.

Individual game tickets and parking are currently on sale for all Nationals games in 2009 through the Nationals Park Box Office, located at Half & N Street, SE; by visiting nationals.com; or calling 888.632.NATS(6287). Fans interested in Nationals Ticket Packages including Full, Half, Partial, or Mini season plans and Group Outings of 25 or more should call 202.675.NATS(6287) - Option #1 or log onto nationals.com. Nationals Park is located on the Metrorail Green Line at the Navy Yard station.
