And the winners are...
The Angels' Mike Scioscia was named the AL's Manager of the Year after receiving 15 first-place votes, 10 for second and one for third.
Minnesota's Ron Gardehire was the runner-up. He received six first-place votes, 12 second and six third. The Yankees' Joe Girardi (four, three, five) finished third.
Seattle's Don Wakamatsu and Texas' Ron Washington also received first-place votes. Detroit's Jim Leyland garnered two third-place votes.
In the NL, Colorado's Jim Tracy took home the hardware after replacing the fired Clint Hurdle in late May. He received 29 out of a possible 32 first-place votes. St. Louis' Tony LaRussa was second and the Dodgers' Joe Torre finished third.
Also receiving votes were Atlanta's Bobby Cox, San Francisco's Bruce Bochy, Philadelphia's Charlie Manuel, Florida's Fredi Gonzalez and San Diego's Bud Black.

I'm surprised Scioscia won. His team plays in a four-team league with one of baseball's highest payrolls. Gardehire should have won.
Will Felix Pie get to present Scioscia with his trophy? BTW... Gardenhire got screwed...
The choice was simple, vote for Scioscia or be glared at from the Angels' dugout.
Agree with Tracy; would have picked Gardenhire or Washington in the AL.
Well at least Derek Jeter didn't win it!
We have to remember that Scoscia dealt with something that no other manager had to - the death of a player, a good young player at that. The fact that the team held it together (despite other injuries as well, especially to the pitching staff) is a credit to him.
I did think that Gardenhire was deserving, but the Tigers practically gave them the division by losing 4 out of their last 5 games, including the playoff.
Scoscia deserved it. He's a very good manager.
