Sunday night sights and sounds

What a night for the first Ravens-Steelers match-up of the year.

We've got perfect weather, a nationally-televised audience, and plenty of playoff implications on the line as these two heated rivals square off here at M&T Bank Stadium.

The parking lots are already packed with tailgaters, and the downtown area is abuzz in anticipation of this one.

As could be expected, I saw a ton of Steelers jerseys on my way into the stadium. There will be a lot of Black and Gold throughout the stands tonight.

Ed Reed was out warming up a couple minutes ago and looked to be moving well. The Ravens' All-Pro safety is listed as questionable with a foot injury, but he looks like he'll be OK to go tonight.

No sign of Ray Lewis yet; Ray is listed as questionable with a foot injury as well.

Steelers QB Dennis Dixon just came out and started warming up. With Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch both out for Pittsburgh, the second-year man who has thrown one career NFL pass will get the start tonight.

Dixon's got a weird delivery; he tosses the ball from almost a three-quarter angle, like he's a shortstop flinging the ball over to first base.

This game features three guys who went to the University of Oregon; Dixon, Haloti Ngata and Demetrius Williams. Dixon met up with the Ravens defensive tackle and wide receiver at midfield for a little friendly chat.

Former Raven Corey Ivy also had a little meet and greet with some of his old teammates. The cornerback was signed by the Steelers this week to help on special teams, and it just so happens that his first appearance with his new team is back here at M&T.

Looks like the Ravens will be wearing their purple jerseys and white pants while the Steelers will be in their white jerseys and gold pants.

We're about an hour and a half from kickoff. Back with more in a bit.
