Because You Asked - Red, White and Blonde
It's time once again to tackle the questions that keep popping back up after I've launched myself into them and been flagged for a helmet-to-helmet hit.
You know the routine. I answer them, you ask me again, I answer them, you ask me again. It's the School of Roch dance. Dim the lights and let me lead.
• Do you think the Orioles have any interest in Ben Sheets?
Nope. That's mostly because he doesn't have any interest in them. It's like telling everyone you dumped a girl after she stopped taking your calls and got a restraining order against you. I mean...that's how I've been told that it works. Anyway, the Orioles didn't attend his throwing session in Louisiana earlier this week. If they were considering him for the rotation, they would have sent a team official or a scout or an office intern with a notepad and meal money. You can...(wait for it)...pull the Sheets over him. The Orioles...(again, wait for it)...will be short-Sheeted when they compile their pitching staff.
• Where do you think Adam Jones will bat?
In the lineup.
• Could you try again, please?
It's really too early to be fielding lineup questions. Brian Roberts will bat first. That's pretty much the only certainty. I expect Nick Markakis to bat third again. Jones won't hit lower than seventh, so we're looking at second, fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh. We need to wait until the Orioles complete their winter business and see how these guys are swinging the lumber in exhibition games.
• Is Kevin Millwood unhappy to be with the Orioles? He sounds miserable.
I wondered the same thing after his conference call in Indianapolis. I've heard happier people at a wake. But after listening to a few more of his interviews, I've come to realize that he's just got a low-key personality. Even when he revealed a humorous side, he sounded more like Steven Wright. I don't think he'll be putting whoopee cushions on the clubhouse sofas or running around with a fake arrow through his head, but he's not going to jump off the Warehouse roof, either. He's fine.
• How many spring training games will air on MASN?
They haven't released that information, but I expect to find out soon. I'll pass it along.
• Who's replacing Buck Martinez in the MASN broadcast booth?
I never imagined that MASN would need a backup catcher for Martinez. The network is still deciding how to fill his seat. One possibility, as I've written, is to rotate a group of former players, depending where the games are played. Mike Flanagan could factor into the mix. Brady Anderson flew into Baltimore late last week, and I don't think the topic was sit-ups. He could work some games when the Orioles are on the West Coast. I'd personally like to hear Scott Erickson grunt through nine innings.
Gary Thorne: "So what did you usually tell your manager when he tried to remove you from a game?"
Erickson: "Me want ball."
• Is it true that the founder of Taco Bell died this week?
Yes. It was a drive-thru shooting.
• Sorry I asked.
Actually, his doctor wanted to give him a prostate exam, but he would only think outside the bun.
• Is that all you've got?
So far. I'm still working on a "hard or soft shell" joke.
• Why don't we hear more about Scott Moore?
He's one of the in-house candidates, along with Ty Wigginton, if the Orioles don't sign a third baseman. Moore seemed to fade from memory because he's been hurt the past two seasons and underwent surgery on this thumb last summer after playing in only 32 games at Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles re-signed him as a minor league free agent, and he'll probably impress again in spring training. He usually does.
• Who will the Orioles sign next?
Somebody pass the crystal ball. I've given up the Mark Hendrickson Watch. Having my car parked in front of his house was beginning to raise suspicions. We could have a new corner infielder in town by the weekend or next week. It's the same group of candidates, including Joe Crede, who still looks like the Orioles' first choice at third base. I can't imagine that a name will be announced that we haven't debated here endlessly, unless Fritz Connally is making a comeback.
• Would Xavier Nady be a possibility for first base?
I haven't heard his name mentioned once, so I'm going out on a limb to say "no." It could be because of health concerns; it could be because he's viewed as an outfielder; it could be because the front office is getting him confused with former Indians pitcher Charles Nagy. Whatever.
• Are the intrasquad games at spring training open to the public?
I won't know until I get down there, but I'm pretty sure they were closed at Fort Lauderdale Stadium. I remember charting pitches from the mostly empty stands last year and debating whether I was a total loser or just a partial one.
• What did you decide?
I think the answer was pretty obvious after I tried to calculate Andy Mitchell's ball-strike ratio.

In all seriousness, who's Fritz Connally?
Doesn't he write for the Sun?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good one. Fritz was a third baseman on the '85 team. I was going to use Glenn Gulliver, but I went with Fritz. - Roch
Roch,
You're on fire today! I'm torn between drive-thru shooting and short-Sheeted.
I've been waiting for a good time to serve up an off topic question. Recently they showed game 1 of the 1970 World Series on MLBTV. Oddly...that was it for 1970. They did broadcast every game from the 1969 series.
Several years ago a sports dealer told me that film of the 1970 series had been lost forever. Obviously that's not entirely true. Do you know the real story? Is the 1970 series out there on DVD? And why in the world did MLBTV show the game in black and white, but showed highlight clips in brilliant color WITH audio??
Jim Carter
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've seen different games replayed from that series, including the clincher. (Beats watching the '71 series). Not sure why it was black and white. - Roch
Roch,
Thanks for the laughs... you really know how to put a smile on a girl's face! ;)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what she...nevermind. Thanks. Glad you liked it. - Roch
Hey Roch Who's on first? Why aren't the o's looking at ryan garko at first base. Sign him to a one year deal untill synder is ready and if garko doesnt work out we probaly didnt lose that much. I think it would be worth the look he has some power and plays decent first base.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They are looking at Garko. I've mentioned his name multiple times. - Roch
Ah yes...the founder of Taco Bell. The world has lost a true visionary. No one man has done more to encourage healthy eating habits. His invention of a 4th meal full of grease and fat that is to be eaten right before bedtime...what's not to like.

Great stuff Roch, I love these posts. I'm sure hearing the questions over and over again gets old.
Are you going to be at FanFest tomorrow?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. MASN booth 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and media forum at 2:45 p.m. - Roch
Roch,
Great stuff on a Friday! Way to end the week on a strong note. BTW though, you still haven't told us the PTBNL in the Chad Bradford trade........... :D
With Brady in the booth, it could be uncomfortable when the topic of steroids comes up.
So I'm guessing the line-up changes we'll be making look something like this...we're exchanging Melvin Mora and Aubrey Huff for Garrett Atkins and Joe Crede. That's not what I call an upgrade offensively...looks more like a downgrade. If we sign Tejada instead of Crede, maybe it's an upgrade and then you have Atkins which is your pot luck signing of the year. Oh well, this year is all about the young guys maturing, but I'll tell you one thing, if these players take a step forward, I do expect the Orioles to do something extraordinary in next year's free agency and when I say extraordinary, I mean a PREMIER free agent...the kind that you break the bank with and not a low-risk high reward type player.
Joe Crede is a bum and would be a waste of money and roster spot.
Assuming these 13 players on the 25 man roster:
Wieters
Moeller
Atkins
Aubrey
Roberts
Izturis
Andino
Wigginton
Pie
Scott
Reimold
Jones
Markakis
If that's the scenario the only guy he could replace would be Aubrey. At this point Aubrey is a much better option. Why would they want Crede despite the fact they prefer Atkins at 1B? He's a health risk and has not produced numbers worthy of a staring job.
Now if they want to sign Tejada that would make much more sense. He's a better hitter, healthier and could back up at SS so they could keep get rid of Andino.
• Where do you think Adam Jones will bat?
In the batters box.
Matt Albers thought a sick pack of tacos from Taco Hell was the way to six-pack abs. See there is an Orioles connection to the death of the Taco Hell founder. Let's hope Albers lost those taco abs and can pitch again.
From Conan a couple nights ago:
The founder of taco bell died this week. Ya, his tombstone read "Husband. Father. Inventor of Diarrhea."
IMO...Brady Anderson would be an excellent choice as a permanent replacement for Buck. I listen to his analysis on 1370 all the time and he's great. Very common sense and breaks complicated things down so every fan can understand them. The only issue I could see is having him and Palmer in the booth together...could get a little too "negative" for the O's FO at times. He like Palmer, is a guy who calls it like he sees it.
You forgot, who did the Orioles get for the PTBNL in the Chad Bradford trade? That’s the lifetime achievement award for the "Because you asked" segment.

A bunch of us made a bet when this latest blog was posted that you would have something negative to say about the founder of taco bell. Two fools actually took us up on the bet even with your 24/7 whine history. Thanks for winning us the loot.
Alright Roch, point taken. No more abrasive ticket tax comments from me.
As for Taco Bell, my first job was at the Bel Air Taco Bell. Cruddy job but I met a lot of nice girls there.
The only thing better than the Taco Bell menu is getting to make your own versions of the food. Steak with sour cream and extra cheddar cheese on the Gordita bread was the best cure for a case of the munchies.
Folks,
Before you talk about which players the O's should sign (Tejada, Sheets, etc) think about if it was your money on the line. We all want to see a great product on the field and win games, but do you honestly think signing a guy like Tejada (who will probably command a pretty penny) is going to get us to the playoffs this year or next? No. So, why spend all the $$ on him? I'd rather sign a younger, cheaper guy (Crede) or go in-house for 3B. Teams live and die by their pitching and the reality is we don't know what are pitching is going to be like this year or next year. Sure, we have some young arms and they could be the real deal but we can't say for sure. I think after this year, we'll have a better idea what our roation will look like next year and beyond. THEN, you can either look to add another top of the line starting pitcher to complement whatever rotation we go with...THEN you can go out and spend big bucks on corner infielders if our in-house guys don't pan out. I'm just saying, wait until we have a good nucleus in our starting rotation before you blow $$ on free agents. After this year, hopefully that nucleus is a little more clear. Sorry for the rant, happy Friday everyone.

Thanks for the laughs. I too wonder why the same questions are asked over and over and over again. but, of course, I read your whole blog including all the comments, so I know what has been asked. I'm wondering if the repeat questioners do the same. Probably not.

Actually I am a die hard Shorebird fans. But once a year I make it a point to attend a Bowie and Keys game. So if that makes me "Jack" in your mind, you go for it and believe your disillusional self! Hard to be Jack when I live in Ocean Pines. Didn't Jack say he lived in Carrol County or something to that effect? Some of you on here actually find reason to attack other posters. You are no better then some of the posters you call out each and every day!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's funny PAUL - You were nowhere near this blog until Jack was banned. So how would you know where Jack lived unless you knew him or you were him????? You're not fooling anyone moron. It's pretty obvious when you still spell ridiculous with an 'E'. Hopefully it won't be long until you're banned from here as well. Seriously dude, get a life. There's much more to live for than bashing people on a blog and craving attention.
Chris,
You do have fair points about spending money and obviously none of the guys we add will get us to the playoffs this year, but the other end is that if the team can simply play "successful" it could help draw more fans in this case to the games. I agree with you in some aspects that spending a ton of money won't help (which is why I wouldn't have been big on signing Matt H or Bay to a huge deal) but I think they should be able to bring in Bedard and Miggy for a "reasonable" price with the chance to get some return on their investments from the fans.
You know the routine. I answer them, you ask me again, I answer them, you ask me again.

Not the same questions over and over. That's why I created this "Because You Asked" series. My answers seem to get overlooked in the comments section. And it's all in fun. - Roch
My take on the questions......
Sheets - "Nope. That's mostly because he doesn't have any interest in them." Would you want your son to have any interest in an organization which only low balls it players? Not to mention a perrenial loser!
Jones lineup - Hmmm I have a feeling you are right on this one
Milwood happy - Would you be happy to be traded against your will to the Orioles. A team which their 2010 destiny is guaranteed to be in last place while losing 7 out of 10 games?
Masn ST Games - They will let us know..they are still letting the market play out! You know, Andy and communications go hand and hand!
Replacement for Martinez - A rotation of past players still on the payroll. Remember, they are already beign payed instead of having to hire another person..cheapest option theory strikes again!
Hearing about Moore - You are not going to hear anything about more because Andy has a fascination with Atkins...why? aging veteran who come cheap while filling the thirst for a few who cry to sign a FA! We did our best : ( but they didnt want to come here
Who will they sign next - After waiting for years for the market to play out...whoever comes the cheapest! I hope Hendrickson tells them to stick it after low balling him. They are praying on this team being close to his home! Cant wait for the fallout from that one..LOL
Nady and 1st base - He wants too much, forget it! You know, small market team concept again!
Gotta love straight talk!
The Free Agent market is down to the bare bones, and once again Andy is a keen shopper. I guess we'll get Crede or some other reject in here in the coming weeks and Andy will be in rare form, telling everyone how much the team is improved with some .235 hitter.
If you look at a functional front office, they make their big moves in November and December. January is a time to add quantity or sure up a few small weak spots. As usual, Andy is BARGAIN shopping late in the offseason.
Since wins and losses matter more next year, then Andy's performance this offseason will also be judged in a higher regard. From here it looks like a repeat of last year!
Budget Baseball!
Fritz...I liked him. Got to meet him in when the team was in Kansas City and he was very pleasant. Alas, I think it was the same trip that they cut him.

Roch,
I know for me, and perhaps others, the tedium of sorting out the intelligent discussion from the crap by and about Brummie, KPB, Paul, et al, almost makes it not worth the effort to read the comments. While I never miss your posts, I generally only read comments for 2 or 3 posts a week.

Roch,
A most excellent Friday post. As you might guess from my pen name, I was quite a fan of Taco Bell in my early days. In fact, once a year with would have the Taco Bell challenge. We would go to a different Taco Bell in town each day of the week. At one point someone taped a TacoBill name tag on my door and it...(wait for it)...it stuck!
Alas, my days of Taco Bell challenges have passed me by. Once Chipotle came to the neighborhood I got spoiled.
Your on today....too funny?
Rock, I can't see why the O's wouldn't consider Jermanine Dye or Nomar Garciapara....(Yes I know aging but one year contracts)....these guys are true hitters.
I also can't believe they would not be interested in Chad Bradford (Not the same delivery as Cla Meredith).
Keep Rocking.....love your "Blogs"....keep preaching the bunting drills
It's a shame Sheets doesn't have any interest in the O's. He'd be a good guy to sign to an incentive-laden deal, especially since he'll be ready to pitch sooner than Bedard. I guess he doesn't want to surround himself with a lot of young pitching talent. Alas.
Jones, ideally, would hit second or third. It depends on who hits cleanup, really. If it's Scott, I wouldn't want Markakis and Scott hitting back-to-back, so I'd split them up with a righty. If it's Wieters or Reimold, then Jones can hit second and Markakis third. My only worry with Jones hitting second is that he tends to swing and miss a lot, especially on breaking pitches, so doing the hit-and-run with him may be a challenge. THe perk is that, after Roberts hits a double, Jones (as a righty) screens the catcher on the throw to third when Roberts steals, while Markakis obviously doesn't.
I've never heard Brady Anderson's commentary, so I don't know anything about how he would do in the booth. He strikes me as having the right personality for the job, though.
Millwood sounds very low-key. All the interviews I've heard with him have been done in the morning, and he sounds like he had just gotten out of bed. Not everyone is a morning person. From what I've read, he was a positive influence for Texas' young pitchers, so I'm hoping he can duplicate that here.
If it comes down to Crede and Tejada at 3B, I really want it to be Tejada. Crede is the better defender, but 150 games a year > 90 games a year, and a .340 OBP > a .270 OBP. Being good with the glove only counts for so much. I'd be more amenable to Crede if we had a more proven hitter at the other corner, but we don't. It's possible that neither Atkins nor Crede rebound to have good years, and I'd prefer not to have two holes in the lineup at 1B and 3B.
Xavier Nady would be a good signing, since he has experience at 1B, and can also play the corner OF positions. The thing that would scare me is that he's coming off his second Tommy John surgery. I think he's a better buy-low candidate than Crede, though.
Hey Brummie:
In regards to the budget baseball nature of the O's FO...for the most part I agree with you. But I also see an interesting dichotomy. The O's won't shell out the $15M for a good player, but they have no problem paying a one-dimensional guy like Scott $4M, a mediocre starting pitcher like Millwood $9M, and a hasbeen like Uehara whatever bloated figure he's making. It's very strange. It's like a guy going to a car lot and passing up all the new Mercedes and instead opting for the used Honda Accord that's selling for way over the bluebook value. If he just spent that extra money he'd have a nice car, but instead he's going to waste his money.
Great post Roch, very funny.
I still vote Tejada over Crede. Hell, why not just resign Mora to a one year deal if they are going to bring Crede in? You'll get better defense and you know he won't get injured! But seriously, how do they know that Josh Bell is going to be playing in Baltimore mid-summer? Bell could get injured, he could stink up Norfolk, he could be mediocre. If they get Tejada, they are assured of two things: he will play every game, and he will put up half-decent offensive numbers. 300-15-80 is a lot better than 230-1-15.
I know we aren't going to be World Series contenders this year, but stop playing for the future, and go for the better players that are available right now, regardless of whether they want 4 million or 4.1 million dollars. The O's payroll this year is half of what it was last year, and for them to be unwilling to spend the extra million on a much better player (Adam LaRoche) is just ludicrous.
Hopefully MacPhail is using Crede as a ploy to bring Tejada's price down, and not the other way around.
S Roberts .300+

L Scott .270+
R Tejada .295+

Roch,
And word from Andy or talk in the warehouse about Thome? Would make a great DH and bat to write into the 4th spot? My guess is, he would want too much which is REDICULOUS!
Just for you Steve. Now go chew on a cactus! What a geek..lol What a fan, never even goes to any games being 3000 miles away! Probably just a disgruntled diamondback fan who got threw out of their forum...lol
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I should have included Thome in the Because You Asked. The Orioles aren't looking to sign a full-time DH with Scott on the roster. - Roch
Roch,
Just a thought or idea.
Can you do a blog this weekend summing up FanFest for the fans who are either getting there late or cannot attend?

Roch,
My brother texted me that Curt Motton has passed away. Can you confirm this?
Sad if true. Curt was a true gentleman who loved being an Oriole. My bro and I were vendors the last season at Memorial Stadium and he worked with the outfielders pre-game and then sat behind home plate and scouted the O's pitchers. We would go sit with him the last couple innings when we could and he always made the time to talk baseball, whether about the current team or about how having played on a team with Frank Robinson was still amazing to him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly, it's true. - Roch
Think hits Roch, not repeated questions, as in the # of them on your blog that makes the bean counters @ MASN sooooo happy. It's ironic , but everyone's villain here ,B_O, actually is helping you in a sense.
Hilarious Taco Bell jokes.... I can honestly say I have never eaten @ or even used the drive thru @ Taco Bell & I like TexMex food! What I don't like is diarrhea...
Why on Earth Crede? If they do $ign him, I think that assures us they are conceding any chance of a winning season this year. That's a loser move, pure & simple considering the other options out there AND in house.
It was interesting to hear Nady's name. He has played first although very little and bats right handed . I guess missing the entire year last year has teams looking past him. I really don't see the O's signing him unless he can play first. But he is one of those low risk guy's now.
I don't know why, but I get the feeling that an Oriole free agent signing is coming today. Something in the air...
In the immortal words of David Essex, "Roch On!!" You put me in stitches -- now Ben Sheets and I have something in common. And I know what you're probably thinking so I'll just answer it now: no, the Orioles have not had anyone scouting me either, at least no one I've noticed.
Signing Ryan Garko is starting to intrigue me. At times during his career, he's been an extremely productive run-producer. He doesn't have a lot of power, but when he stays within himself, he hits to all parts of the field with doubles-power. However, he often gets lost in a quest for home runs and his swing loses rhythm and timing. Maybe Crow could work with him and help him avoid or correct those situations. Garko's not much of a fielder at first base -- he won't make Os fans forget Aubrey Huff! -- but he's adequate. Michael Aubrey's a better fielder, but Garko probably has more RBI potential, assuming some Os can get on base before he comes up to bat.
ORIOLEFAN4LIFE:
They are not interested in Chad Bradford because in 2009 because in 20 appearances he pitched 10.1 innings and gave up 22 hits and 2 walks for a WHIP of 2.323 and had an ERA of 4.35.
Roch, conspiracy theorists as I believe “Taco Bell” is nothing more than a front for the mega conglomerate, Pepsi Co distribution pipeline, which pumps millions of gallons of liquid cheese, sour cream sauce, tomato sauce, and seasoned liquidated meat products through their million mile underground pipeline network, stemming from their plant located in an isolated corn field in upper Kansas. I’ve made it to the perimeter once, but was quickly deprogrammed and shuttled back to the outskirts of Topeka. Help us Roch, help us free the zombies of the Taco Bell nation.
Mdterps,
This is all a bit absurd. Losing 7 of 10 would amount to a 49-113 record. Not likely. And are you seriously complaining about the vague suggestion of replacing an announcer with former players? Last I checked Brady Anderson wasn't on the payroll. I also love that when Scott Moore is brought up most people flip and call him a career AAAA guy with no shot, but then the second he gets pushed to the back he becomes a hard luck case that MacPhail is holding back. I'm not saying that either of these scenarios is true in regards to his talent, just that people flip-flop so quickly I feel like they're running for office. It's strange that you seem to think MacPhail has a fascination with aging veterens when 100% of our starting outfield, our starting second baseman and catcher, and 60% of our starting rotation is made up of guys that are young up-and-comers. And wouldn't you know it, our third baseman and first baseman of the future are both currently in our minor league system.
I do agree with your assessment that Nady wants to much money, though. He didn't play at all last year and isn't a first baseman. But hey, someone threw out a shot in the dark suggestion that didn't really fit from the beginning so why not complain when it doesn't happen, despite the fact there's no real complaint at all. "Oh my! Andrew isn't going to pay top dollar for a guy coming off major surgery to play a position that he's played for a grand total of 4 innings since the beginning of the 2007 season! OMG WHERE'S THE PLAN!!" Give me a break.
For everyone that finds a reason to manipulate facts to complain about everything on both sides of the argument, I'd love to get your take on what you'd actually do to fix it. It's the worst type of person who will whine about everything yet make no actual effort to suggest and alternative.
I'm not sure why but after reading about Taco Bell and Sheets, the expression "through the eye of a needle" came to mind.
I also forgot, I wanted to throw this out there about Crede. He's not going to be the future of the team, but he's not a terrible player. His only issue is health.
In just under 100 games each of the past two seasons he's been worth almost 2 WAR each year, which is decent. You figure that if he kept up his modest pace for an entire season you'd have a 3 WAR player. That's pretty valuable.
Like some other players, his value is his defense. He has good power for the most part, but his on-base skills are somewhat lacking. At his very best you can expect an OPS around .810-.820. I think my optimistic projection for him would be 120 games played with a .770-.780 OPS. That's not exceptional, but he'll probably give you a UZR/150 of around 7-8, so overall he'll be worth his money.
On a one year deal to buy some time for Josh Bell I think he could actually be a bargain.
Freakin' hilarious Roch. This is the best part of your blog.

do you enjoy the "how I met your mother" , ( the wait for it refrence) or is just your thing also?

The O's aren't going to be interested in Dye because he's never played 1B before, and there are some scouts and other knowledgeable baseball people who think his skills declined so rapidly at the end of last season that he has nothing useful left.
The O's aren't likely to be interested in Nomar because he hasn't been a full-time player in two seasons, has never drawn a walk, and has very little of his power left.
The O's aren't likely to be interested in Bradford because even though it's not the same delivery as Meredith, it is the same skill set (groundballs, gets out righties, can't get out lefties). On the flip side, it's unlikely that Bradford would be interested in the Orioles, since they basically sold him to Tampa so they didn't have to pay the rest of his salary.
People can call it swill all they like, I love Taco Bell. Nothing's better on your way home from the bar, as long as someone else is driving!
Would you believe... I have only been to Taco Bell once in my life and that was a year or so ago. It probably has something to to do with the fact that I don't eat red meat.. or green meat.
I think random fans should contribute to the broadcast. I know my rugged good looks would fit right in. Not to mention Palmer and I could revive the Jockey ads once I finish this Atkins - Albers diet.
One question not asked... will Wigginton still make the team? Adding Atkins, he becomes the pop up king without a position.
Re: 1970 & 71 Series
At this point, the idea of the Orioles getting to the World Series and losing a heartbreaker seem like the greatest thing in the world right now.
IF the Orioles want to boost attendance all they need to do is put Mike Flannagan BACK in the booth. That guy would put me to sleep with his monotone voice and Im sure thats the same reason he couldnt get anything done as a GM, he put the other GMS to sleep on the phone.
The Orioles seem to have a love fest with Chris Hoiles. He has been around a few times and is no longer coaching if I read correctly. Why not try him in the booth?
I originally really wanted Ben Sheets but all hes proved to me is hes NOT a competitor if hes unwilling to release medical records to some teams not named Red Sox or Yankees in the East. He can take his broken down body to some other sucker and rape them of all the money hes gonna extort out of them.
Speaking of robberies I remember somebody trying to rob a Wendys drive thru one time and their window is up higher than most others as soon as the robber pulled the gun, the kid at the window ducked and all that clown robber got was arrested. Got to love stupidity.
I cant figure for the life of me the lovefest the Orioles have with Joe Crede. Think a broken down Kevin Millar for those who dont know who Crede is. And the sad thing is he would cost 15 times what Millar probably would cost and NO I dont want Millar back just comparing the two. Delgado is washed up as well, the only true prize left is Blalock. Other than that the Os missed the boat for infielders at least IMO.
Rock, the intersquad games are free as I watched some in Ft Lauderdale. last year. and please don't promote M tejada for 3rd base. had enought of him the last time.
Re: color:
Any chance John Lowenstein comes back? I don't know what all was involved in his leaving, and I think that was back in the Home Team Sports days.
Anyway, I found him pretty sharp and entertaining.

He was terrific back in the day, but I don't think he's under consideration now. He hasn't done baseball in a long, long time. - Roch
I'd have to vote for Chipotle too. After I put my dog on an organic diet and began strict paying attention ingredients for her... something crossed over, and I could no longer eat at Taco Bell.
I've noticed that Qdobe (Chipotle knock-off, but with better chips), seems to be in northern Baltimore County area. Then there's California Tortilla, but they don't make the food directly in front of you, so I don't trust them.
Hope more games are on TV in March, and thanks, Roch!
