Hall Voters are a Joke!
| | Comments (4)

What are the Hall of Fame voters thinking? The Baseball Writers of America somehow wake up one morning and all of the sudden believe that Andre Dawson is worthy, but the eight previous years he wasn't? What?

Don't get me wrong. The Hawk deserved it. He had great numbers and should have been in seven or eight years ago. I just don't understand making him wait nine...

And why isn't Robbie Alomar in? He's 53rd all-time in hits. EVER! You mean 12 All-Star games isn't enough? Or maybe the 10 Gold Gloves? Do the writers need 20?

He was the best second baseman in baseball for 10 years, but maybe he will be worthy next year. Maybe his overall numbers will improve. What a joke.

I know Alomar and Blyleven will eventually get in because they are so close, but making these guys wait is absurd. The thought that only certain guys are first ballot guys needs to go. These guys were great and need to be in the Hall of Fame.

The Baseball Writers of America are a bunch of donks that were busy studying calculus back in the day when people like Dawson were tearing up the diamond...they know jack.

Somehow, especially the older writers, think that first ballot is different than second ballot - but it's not. Blyleven deserves it more than a bunch of pitchers who are already there, and Alomar was probably the best player in baseball for a 5-7 year stretch.

The baseball writes of america lack historical knowledge and want to go by all of these new made up stats called sabremetrics. The hall of fame needs to change who they allow to vote like team broadcasters, tv announcers who cover the game and played against players eligible for the hall. I agree if you get elected on the 15th year or the 1st year its the same. Your numbers didn't change in that time.

What's even funnier is that some donk voted for David Segui. David Segui getting a Hall of Fame vote is just silly.
