Now that we are about halfway through a brutally long NBA season, here are my awards and predictions for the post-season.

Eastern Conference Playoffs

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers

  2. Atlanta Hawks

  3. Boston Celtics

  4. Orlando Magic

  5. Toronto Raptors

  6. Miami Heat

  7. Chicago Bulls

  8. Charlotte Bobcats

Western Conference Playoffs

  1. LA Lakers

  2. Denver Nuggets

  3. Dallas Mavericks

  4. San Antonia Spurs

  5. Phoenix Suns

  6. Portland Trail Blazers

  7. Utah Jazz

  8. Oklahoma City Thunder

MVP: LeBron - He is just so sick. His numbers get better every year. He's averaging 30, 8 and 8 and shooting 51% with no real help. Mo Williams is out for five weeks and they have no real presence on the block. The debate for Kobe is strong, but with Gasol, Artest and Bynum he's got so much more firepower. If you took Kobe away from LA they still get to the playoffs as a 6 seed. Without LeBron the Cavs blow chunks.

ROY: Tyreke - I thought this kid would be a mini LeBron type player and he's proving it. He isn't the athlete, but his skill set is similar and the numbers are great - 21 a game and shooting 46%. Very strong. You worry about him hitting the wall, but not yet.

6th Man: Jason Terry - So quick and has deadly range.

Coach: How about Lionel Hollins? Memphis was awful last year. I think they won 23 games and they already have 24 this year. A very good young athletic roster is coming into shape. Playoffs are a real possibility.

Future MVP: Gerald Wallace - Can you believe he has been in the league eight years? The only player more versatile and athletic plays in Cleveland, and Wallace is a sick defensive player.

Most Overhyped Team: Without a doubt - Washington - With the payroll they have and the starpower on the court (with Gil) and the experienced coaching staff, this team will be lucky to get 30 wins....Pathetic!

Playoffs, please get here soon.

Playoffs?! Don't talk about playoffs?!

What about Durant? He deserves a nod for something. He might win the scoring title, he's 21, and he makes people in Portland want to cry every time that he makes a highlight reel play.
