Weekend Winners, Playoff Edition

It's now officially time to throw my hat back into the game-picking ring; unfortunately, my last foray didn't turn out so well.
On the Junkies show earlier this week, I claimed the Caps over the Tampa Bay Lightning was "the bet of the decade." I guess it was if you faded my pick and bet on the Lightning, since they won the game 7-4. How could I have known that Caps goalie Michal Neuvirth would implode in the first period, allowing 4 goals on 15 shots? But that's now ancient history.
Let's get to the full slate of NFL Divisional Playoff games upcoming this weekend!
Arizona at New Orleans - Over 57.5 points - Maybe it's the recency effect of the Cardinals' thrilling 51-45 win over the Green Bay Packers in last weekend's playoff game, but who doesn't expect this game to be high-scoring shootout? Arizona showed on national TV last week that they are incapable of stopping anybody, and now they have to face a rested Saints squad in their building. And it's a good thing the Saints offense scores 30 points per game, since their defense lost both starting corners in the last month of the season. All signs point to points aplenty in this matchup, so I am recommending the over. FINAL SCORE PREDICTION - ARIZONA 41 NEW ORLEANS 35
Dallas at Minnesota - Dallas +3 - I didn't think I would buy into the Dallas hype, but I'm buying what Jerry Jones is selling. The Cowboys defense has been stifling over the past three games, allowing just 14 points in that span and shutting out the Redskins and Eagles in back to back contests. I know, anybody could shut out the Redskins, I get it. All of the Tony Romo haters have been dying for him to suffer from his typical December-to-playoffs swoon, but it hasn't happened this year: 8 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and 4 of 5 games since the beginning of December with a QB rating of 100 or higher. The Vikings have looked flat over the past month, unless you count their 44-7 dismantling of the Giants in Week 17, which I don't. Adrian Peterson hasn't rushed for over 100 yards in 7 straight games; if he doesn't hit the century mark against Dallas on Sunday, the Cowboys advance to the NFC Championship Game. FINAL SCORE PREDICTION - DALLAS 31 MINNESOTA 24
Baltimore at Indianapolis - Baltimore +6 - I'll roll the dice of incurring the wrath of Ravens Nation if this pick doesn't hit; I don't want to jinx the guys in purple and black by picking them to win, but the six points is just too tantalizing. Those six points are enticing me. All John Harbaugh has to do is copy the blueprint of how the Ravens dismantled the Pats last week: run, run, and then run some more. You don't want Joe Cool to get into a passing duel with the greatest QB in NFL history, do you? Granted, you need more than 34 passing yards to win another road playoff game, but if the Ravens can somehow grind out 150-175 rushing yards, they can pull off the stunner at Lucas Oil Stadium. I'm guessing the Colts look a bit rusty in the first half after the starters haven't seen consistent action for the better part of a month. FINAL SCORE PREDICTION - BALTIMORE 28 INDY 24
New York at San Diego - San Diego - 7 - You didn't think I would pick every underdog, did you? This is where the Jets' run comes to an end; no way rookie QB Mark Sanchez pulls off consecutive playoff road wins. San Diego will load up against the Jets' running game and dare the rook to beat them through the air. The smart money bets on Philip Rivers coming off a season with a 104 QB rating, 28 touchdowns and just 9 interceptions. Norv Turner gets the win and advances to the AFC Championship in relatively easy fashion. FINAL SCORE PREDICTION - SAN DIEGO 31 NEW YORK JETS 16

You practically live in Ravens territory and you do this to us. The Colts might score more than the Cardinals and the Packers combined now that Cakes is betting against them.
I lay this loss at your feet. Will you drive me to work this week?
