Matusz's third inning
Dominant.
Brian Matusz retired Shane Victorino on a liner to center, struck out Juan Castro on a high fastball and retired Dane Sardinha on a fly ball near the left field line.
Nine pitches, seven strikes.
Dominant.
Matusz has faced the minimum number of batters through three innings, throwing 22 of 33 pitches for strikes. And he's doing it against the Phillies' A team, except for Sardinha being behind the plate.
Manager Dave Trembley met Adam Jones near the top step of the dugout after the inning and appeared to be lecturing the center fielder, who misjudged Victorino's liner before jumping to make the catch. Trembley was smiling as he returned to the bench.

Hey Roch,
I was just on the nationals section of MASN (i had to see how strasburg was doing) And they have this live chat thing. You should try doing that sometime it would be really cool
thanks ben
Sounds like a great outing from Matusz. Congrats.
Now onto this Roberts debacle. Clearly this is a serious injury. It's time to start thinking about life without Brian for a long long time. Back injuries don't just go away with a cortisone shot here or there, especially when you have to bend down for every pitch and play.
Let's hope there is a plan B in the works because B-Rob is headed for the DL for a while. Andy should be working the phones trying to find a suitable rental.
He is on today for sure...this is a WS lineup he is facing here...Jones the gold glove guy....can recover from mistakes but made needed to be reminded about placement for each batter.
