One More Week

In just seven days, I'll be packing my bags and heading to Viera, FL to take in the sights and sounds of spring training. I hope it warms up!

It will be my third trip to Nationals spring training camp, so I've learned my way around a bit, but I'm as excited as ever. I even earned a free voucher to Walt Disney World from Disney's Give a Day, Get a Day service project, which I can't wait to redeem.

Anyway, I thought I'd open this up as a fan-centric spring training discussion.

spacecoast.jpgFirst, are any of you going to spring training this year and when are you going?

I know Nats Buzz commenter Don is already there and I'll certainly try to pay him a visit. Anybody else?

For those of you that have been to Viera in previous seasons, what are your best recommendations for restaurants and places to visit?

I have a few favorites myself (Florida's in Cocoa Beach), but I know there will be plenty of time to try new things. What do you suggest?

Should I finally go see the Kennedy Space Center?

Lastly, what would you like Nats Buzz to cover from spring training? If you have any interesting ideas, requests, questions, preferences -- you name it, now's your time to let me know. My spring training week will overlap with two televised MASN games, so I'll be sure to check in with Bob, Rob, Debbi and whoever else I can find.

I'm grateful for your feedback and ideas! Can you tell I'm excited to see baseball again?

Sounds like a popular time to go. Have fun, Mike!

Thanks to the folks who responded via Twitter and Facebook with their suggestions!

Definitely go to the Space Center...worth the trip.

Thanks! I think I will. I always skip it, but only because there is so much baseball. I think I'll try to squeeze it in this year. -- Kristen

We visited the Space Center on a trip back in the day, before the Nats came to DC. Definitely worth a detour.
