Rainy days and Fridays
It's been pouring for most of the night and morning, and it's difficult to imagine this game being played later today.
I'm not saying it won't happen. Nothing is official. But the forecast is bleak and the field already is drenched.
I'll venture inside the clubhouse in about 15 minutes to grab the lineup and check on second baseman Brian Roberts. And I'll let you know if they bang this one - as they say in the sportswriting business.
Jeremy Guthrie is scheduled to start today, followed by Mike Gonzalez, Will Ohman and Dennis Sarfate. The Marlins will counter with Andrew Miller, Sean West, Seth McClung, Jose Veras and Jay Buente.
At least, that's the way it's supposed to play out - weather permitting. And right now, the weather isn't going to let us do much around here.
I should note that Robert Andino had a home run and triple last night. I didn't want his achievements to get washed away in the downpour.

Looks like it will be a slow day today. Too bad because it gives a lot of time here to focus on the negatives. Sure, not everything is roses so far but the whole point of spring training is to work out the kinks and to see who can seize an opportunity. Others will fall by the wayside... it's all part of the process. This is not really a time to draw conclusions.
OCJ said... I think the Orioles are a much stronger team without Ty than without Luke, but I don't think Ty has much trade value. What does anyone else think?...
I agree with you sir. I don't see Wigginton having much if any trade value which may actually help his cause with the team. Scott, on the other hand, does have trade value and I don't think he'd complain too much about a regular gig in the outfield with another team. So it wouldn't surprise if he goes but the question is for what. That may hinge on Roberts' wonky back. Otherwise, I'm always all for more pitching prospects.
Any reason Koji didn't go 2 last night? I thought they were trying to stretch him out a bit?
