I've got two predictions for you today. 1. Someone will report that Nick Markakis underwent "successful surgery" on his thumb. As opposed to all those unsuccessful surgeries that players endure each year. Unless the thumb falls off, it's going to be successful. Orioles right fielder Nick Markakis is expected to undergo surgery on his broken left thumb Monday in Sarasota. The decision was made after Markakis had a CT scan on the thumb this morning at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Orioles could have used a rainout last night. A heavy, heavy downpour - like the kind you normally find inside the Rogers Centre dome. Animals paired off. That sort of thing.
