While the 28-year-old saw much of his playing time cut this season, he was part of one of my favorite things in baseball: a position player pitching.

As you can probably imagine, I watch a lot of baseball games, which means I see a lot of odd things throughout the course of a season. However, a position player pitching generally only happens a few times a season - and I always tune in to see the fun.

On Aug. 5, the Nationals were down 8-2 and had already used five pitchers by the ninth inning of a game against the Diamondbacks. And that's when Moore got the call.

Moore let one inherited runner score and hit a batter, but escaped the inning unscathed with a 0.00 ERA.
