Game 34 lineups: Phillies at Nats (updated)

The Nationals welcome back third baseman Anthony Rendon to their lineup today. Rendon did well in two rehab appearances for high Single-A Potomac over the past two days, collecting five hits in eight at-bats. He has been out with a hairline fracture in his left big toe.

The team has won a season-high six games in a row, so having Rendon back could help the offense get into overdrive.

Since manager Davey Martinez switched up the top of the lineup, Bryce Harper, Trea Turner and Matt Adams have combined to hit .348 (16-for-46) with two doubles, nine home runs, 21 RBIs, eight walks and 17 runs.

Rendon is batting second today. Turner gets the day off, with Wilmer Difo playing shortstop.

Adams' tear dates to April 25. Adams is batting .462 (12-for-26) over his eight games in that span with one double, five home runs, 12 RBIs, one hit by pitch, four walks and 10 runs.

Right-hander Tanner Roark (2-2, 3.55 ERA) opposes right-hander Vince Velasquez (1-4, 5.70) this afternoon. The Nationals went 3-0 against Velasquez in 2017. His ERA was 6.75 for those three games. Roark is 6-6 with a 3.96 ERA in 17 career games versus the Phillies. At Nats Park, he has a 28-20 overall record with a 3.40 ERA.

Update: Ryan Zimmerman was scratched from the original Nats lineup with stiffness in his side. Adams shifts from left field to first base, Andrew Stevenson moves from center field to left field and Rafael Bautista will now play center field.
