Guthrie released from hospital, "on the road to recovery"

Orioles right-hander Jeremy Guthrie has been released from the hospital after being treated for a form of pneumonia that forced him to miss the team's Monday home opener and spend two days under the watchful eyes of doctors and nurses.
"I'm free!" Guthrie wrote on his Twitter account early Wednesday afternoon. "On my way out of hospital&on the road to recovery. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors&my sweet wife. Thanks for your prayers."
Guthrie was scheduled to start tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Detroit Tigers at Camden Yards, but he was scratched because of his illness, which was originally thought to have been a bad case of the flu. Brad Bergesen will make tonight's start in his place.
If he shows no after effects from his hospitalization, Guthrie could make Sunday's start against the Rangers, the final game of the first homestand of the season. He pitched eight shutout innings of three-hit ball in the O's season opener Friday against the Rays in St. Petersburg, Fla.
