Guthrie singing different tune (and trailing 5-2)

Comedian Jay Mohr tweeted that Jeremy Guthrie needed to use Van Halen's "Unchained" as his entrance music and the right-hander would win his next three starts. Guthrie warmed up to the song today and got two quick outs in the first inning. Unfortunately, the next three batters reached, with Aaron Hill's single giving Toronto a 1-0 lead. Guthrie threw 22 pitches in the inning, the vast majority coming after he retired Yunel Escobar and Corey Patterson on fly balls to center field. Jones ran down Escobar's drive at the warning track. He's playing an outstanding center field this year. I haven't heard anyone complain that he's too shallow. Jones singled and scored in the bottom of the first inning. Is there any doubt that he's the Orioles' first-half MVP at this point? Going back to the top of the inning, Jose Bautista walked with two outs and took third on Adam Lind's single to left field. Nolan Reimold stayed back on the ball and fielded it flat-footed, and Bautista motored into third base. He probably would have scored from second on Hill's single, but Reimold needs to charge the ball and be ready to make the throw. And I'm not saying anything that he doesn't already know. Robert Andino led off the bottom of the first with a single, moved up on Jones' single and scored on Vladimir Guerrero's ground-rule double. Jones scored the go-ahead run off Toronto left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes on Derrek Lee's grounder. Orioles 2, Toronto 1. In case you missed it, shortstop Manny Machado has come off the disabled list and rejoined Single-A Delmarva. Looking back at last night, we're told that Mark Reynolds' 128 career home runs were the most by any active player before hitting his first grand slam. And finally, if you're not familiar with "Unchained"...shame on you. Update: The Blue Jays are hitting everything hard today, and that includes a slider that Yunel Escobar crushed for a tie-breaking three-run homer in the fourth inning. Guthrie has allowed five runs and seven hits, with three walks and three strikeouts, in four innings.
