Guthrie talks about OD start, Pirates lineup

SARASOTA, Fla. - Jeremy Guthrie will start the Orioles' regular-season opener for the third time in four years, an assignment that he calls "a big honor." "I think it's a manifestation of the confidence that Buck (Showalter) and the coaching staff have in me," he said. "I'm pleased to be out there. It's a great feeling to be out there with your team on the first game of the season, being out there battling and trying to start the season off on a good note. I'll be very excited to have that opportunity." Guthrie didn't show up at camp assuming that he was the No. 1 starter or that he was competing for it. "I didn't think either of those things," he said. "I always show up at camp hoping to be in shape and get ready to have a good season. Where I'll pitch in the rotation never factors into the preparation or the thought process." Here's the Pirates lineup for tonight's game: Andrew McCutchen CF Jose Tabata LF Lyle Overbay 1B Neil Walker 2B Pedro Alvarez 3B Garrett Jones RF Ronny Cedeno SS Chris Snyder C Ross Ohlendorf RHP The Orioles have 39 players on their 40-man roster with Adrian Rosario's removal earlier today.
