Want to change those dull, white license plates on your car? Now you can. The Orioles and Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration are now giving you that opportunity.
Today, the Orioles announced that, in conjunction with the MVA, they have created Orioles-themed license plates.
The plates will be $50 apiece, with $25 going to the Baltimore Orioles Charitable Foundation.
Also for charity, license plate numbers featuring the uniform jersey numbers of Adam Jones, Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters will be auctioned, along with the six plates featuring the Orioles enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. - Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Earl Weaver, Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken Jr.
Fans may enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win plate No. 0001, the first plate available, by going to orioles.com/plates to register and order their plates. The sweepstakes runs until April 17, and by registering, fans agree that they are a resident of Maryland with a valid Maryland driver's license and that they will use the plate on their vehicle as required by the Maryland MVA.
The new license plates will take the place of your existing plates.
