Orioles lineup vs. Yankees in second game of series

Jorge Mateo gets the start at second base tonight for the Orioles and James McCann is behind the plate.

Heston Kjerstad stays on the bench against a left-hander, former Orioles Rule 5 pick Nestor Cortes. He’s been in the lineup once since the Orioles recalled him last Tuesday.

Colton Cowser is in left field and batting ninth. Jordan Westburg is the third baseman.

Dean Kremer is making his sixth start. He’s posted a 4.61 ERA and 1.061 WHIP in 27 1/3 innings.

Kremer struck out 10 batters over 5 1/3 innings in his last start in Anaheim. He has a 5.04 ERA and 1.410 WHIP in nine career starts against the Yankees.

Aaron Judge is 4-for-10 with three home runs against Kremer. Giancarlo Stanton is 5-for-14, and Gleyber Torres is 5-for-17 with two doubles.

Anthony Rizzo is 1-for-10 with five strikeouts.

The Orioles have homered in 17 of the last 18 games, and their 45 homers through the first 28 are the most in club history.

Cortes has made six starts and registered a 3.50 ERA and 1.000 WHIP in 36 innings. He’s gone seven or more innings in three outings.

Adley Rutschman is 6-for-12 against Cortes. He’s the designated hitter.

Cedric Mullins is 1-for-18 with eight strikeouts and Anthony Santander is 1-for-12 with six strikeouts.

Rutschman has a career-high 10-game hitting streak. He’s hit safely in 15 of his last 16 games.
