Still no Teixeira
| | Comments (15)

I watched closely as the captains met at midfield to make sure Mark Teixeira wasn't posing as the Ravens' mascot. I wanted to see if he'd remove the head and wave to the crowd.

No such luck.

There actually was a rumor circulating that Teixeira would walk to midfield and hold up an Orioles jersey. I seriously doubt that the Ravens want the Orioles stealing that much of their thunder today.

He also didn't ride around the field in a red convertible, waving and blowing kisses to the crowd.

I'm heading up to the MASN suite in a few minutes. I wanted to give him a chance to get settled and crack open his first beer before I ambushed him - if he's up there, of course.

Keep checking back with me.

am I the only one who is really really hopeful tex is at this game?

Well, Tex and I are on our 2nd beers. He's leaning towards Bosox right now becuz they are such a winning organization. I'm telling him that AM is trying hard to turn it around here. Also, trying to sell him on playing with fellow GA Tech alum Weiters. Gotta go and keep workin' on him. Might get down to throwing darts or cutting the cards.

No, If the O's don't sign him I think the city should boycott all home games, block the gates and hand out fliers, use protest signs etc...

Keep up the good work Roch and update us as soon as possible please! Your our eyes and ears out there!

We are just setting ourselves up for major dissapointment with all of this nonsence.

I think we should take a moment to bask in the glow of no more Daniel Cabrera. Remember that save he got in the 17th inning or whatever it was his rookie year? Seems like a hundred years ago. Nobody is still concerned he's gonna be great somewhere else, right?

I'd check the owner's suite, Roch...

No releaseburres,

I keep looking for him.. I am sure I'll have better luck waiting for Roch to tell me he is here!!

I'm watching the game - had a chance to go but have a meeting - really want to believe he is there and will sign...

Ghost of Paul Richards said:

Isn't the Ravens' owner a Severna Park guy? Maybe he might be willing to help. Perhaps he and Tex could co-own a minor league franchise for the Orioles in the Severna Park/Annapolis area after Tex retires as an Oriole.

Baron said:

I find this all hilarious. It's amazing what everyone is prepared to believe. Somewhere, P.T. Barnum is smiling. I don't envy the job Roch has to do sifting through all the nonsense.

andrew said:

i am deffinitly hopeful he is there. i also hope the ravens step it up a little bit

Rob said:

Stupid question. Anyone who reads Roch's blog obviously wants Tex to be at this game.

shawn said:

I really do hope Tex is there and gives Baltimore a reason to hope for a winning team in years to come by signing with the O's.

Brian said:

This was a cute entry. Don't take what every fan says to heart. They just really badly want to win.

Joe in the Dena said:

I think y'all are wasting your time.

Some idiot with nothing better to do calls into a radio show and throws out a silly rumor and the rest of the City goes on a wild goose chase to find him.

I hope someone proves me wrong.
