Morning Roch, A bit cool this morning..we are starting to see more of the team that will be in Baltimore with Gomez the biggest question..have you had any hints at all as to which way the O's are leaning on the pitching decision of 12 vs 13 ???

He wouldn't pitch for the Orioles before Monday if he rejoined them. Still not sure if he's leaving Team USA. - Roch
Roch, I almost hate to ask this, but where do I find a schedule for O's games on radio? A few days ago I turned on the Fan and the game was in the bottom of the 8th and I didn't even know it had been on.

Just wandering about the conversation between Trembley and Kranitz to determine who starts today's game.
Dave - "Kranny, what do you think? Should we go with the young, talented, out of options 24 year old or the 34 year old journeyman, who is 13 games under .500 for his career, has surrendered almost 200 more hits than innings pitched, has a career era of 5.07, and a career whip of 1.45?
Kranny - Well, Penn hasn't started a game this spring, so we wouldn't want to "rush" him and you did say a week ago, Dave, that Hendrickson would be coming out of the pen . . . . so I choose neither. I think we should go with Baez, because he's my mystery starter."
If they're looking at hendrickson as a reliever and penn as a starter, how come hendrickson is getting the start and not penn?
Morning roch, your previous emailer CRAIG stated we are starting to see more of the team that will be in baltimore?? Well he must have a crystal ball because this pitching staff is in shambles right now. It's hard to believe that you can go through a entire spring training with a extra week mind you and still not be any where close to having your pitching staff straightened out. Daniel, olson, and burress look like CY YOUNG candiates compared to what we have this year. The word STOPCAP is going to be the word that we oriole fans will be hearing all year long .
"He has to pitch, pitch well, and go deep into the game, and do a nice job." This was Trembley, talking yesterday, about Hayden Penn's scheduled start today.
No pressure there! Of course now Hendrickson is starting in his place. Right about now I'm guessing Penn will be the happiest man in the clubhouse when he is either traded or released before the team heads north.

I'll be looking for ya up at Jupiter for todays game. I hope Penn gets some good innings in. He is still my guy for the 5th spot or a bull pen spot.
Incidentally, Olson is on the bubble as Mariners fifth starter / long reliever.
Bedard has returned from a strained gluteus maximus and when asked after his last outing as to how he felt he said "my A$$ feels great".

Now that Venezuela is out of the WBC, any word on how soon Mora and Izturis will be back in camp?

Count me as surprised as well. This was supposed to be Penn's big opportunity and Hendrickson is supposed to be a swing man. The only thing I can think of is that Hendrickson will go a maximum of three innings and Penn will take over in the fourth and try to go at least three innings himself. For a guy who remains a candidate for the rotation, though, it seems odd he hasn't received a start all spring.
Anne-Marie, you didn't miss anything. There was no response from you-know-who to my suggestion. BTW, Norfolk only comes to Buffalo once this year and that's May 8-11. I'm hoping to make it for a game or two. It's debatable whether Wieters will still be there.
I don't understand not starting Penn (a rotation candidate) over Hendrickson (who they've said will most likely work out of the bullpen)?
Isn't this bass ackwards?
I enjoy watching the WBC, but I think it is more important to be with the team. Are Roberts and Mora thinking of returning with Guthrie?
