I agree with Joe from Baltimore that Albers needs to prove that he can remain healthy and effective at Norfolk for a month or two. It would be less intense and a more conservative approach that is warranted given this season's expectations. He is going to get hurt again- why have it cost someone like Bergeson a roster spot. It isn't like Albers has proved much yet except that he was a good long reliever for half of a season. He was not impressive as a starter. As an organization, I like how we are moving towards a meritocracy. If Albers can't cut it in a role that makes sense for him, than he has to build his arm back up. Penn and Bergs are solidly in front of him at the moment. Why did Krannitz have Penn continue to throw with a blister developing a couple of days ago btw?

Gibbons? Probably hurt again.

Hopefully, none of your posts today say 'O's beaten by Uggla stick'....

In Class, getting my daily dose of baseball! Thank you again Roch!

good question, where is Jay?

Ryan said:

Roch- At least the O's don't have to see that terrible Hanley Ramirez character today. Lets hope the Marlins have given up on him. Maybe we could take him off their hands for a ptbnl?

Gibbons is living the American dream. He is a very rich man and is still getting paid millions of dollars for doing nothing. Jay Gibbons is a prime example, that PEDS and cheating does pay. Just voicing my opinion.

Yeah where the heck is Gibbons..hope they give the guy a fair shot..would be nice to see him play against the O's though.

JPA-

I think Albers is out of options as well.

There is no way Albers should go to Norfolk. He should be in the majors for as long as he can pitch. Why waste him in AAA, and have him hurt there? He's a major leaguer, he go as long as he can where he belongs...Baltimore in the starting rotation.

What is Alber's record as a major league pitcher? How many times did Albers successfully go through a line up at least 2 times last year, proving he has 'starter stuff'? Can anyone name a starter that tore a labrum, rehabbed it without surgery and successfully resumed his career? Can anyone give me a logical reason that Albers has at least 'A SNOWBALL's CHANCE IN HELL' of being a successfull starting pitcher at the major league level?
