Don't look back

The Nationals have to keep pushing forward and forget what people say.
You can't go back and change history, nor can you go back to last season and try to win more than the 59 wins we finished with. What we can do is prove all the nonbelievers wrong by winning The NL East.
The same people who said before the 2008 season that the Tampa Bay Rays who won 66 games in 2007 had no chance are choking on plenty of crow this year.
The Rays went from 66 wins to 97 in one year and won the AL East; so why is it so hard to believe the Washington Nationals can't go from 59 wins to 92?
That's how many wins The 2008 World Champion Phillies had when they won The NL East last season.
If you still don't believe me, believe this: nearly 20 years ago right around this time in April, I was on a team that was 400-1 odds in Vegas to win the World Series.
Anytime you want me to show you my WS ring, let me know, I really won't mind...
Lets go Nats, I believe in you...

I think Atlanta will be the surprise team in the NL East and the Nats an Marlins will battle it out for last place. What will the Nats do with their first round pick? Crow and Srassburg(sp) want huge buckos.Crow's going to pitch in an independent league a month before the draft to show off his wares.
Oh no, they've taken Nasty and turned HIM into a homer!
Rob, please go to Randy and tell him to tell
these young pitchers to move the batters off the
plate. What would Gibson or Drysdale have done in
Miami! You know they would have been throwing "chin music".
Rob, do not listen to what Bobby H. said. Go back and review film from last year and tally up how many Nats struck out by hanging back off the plate and watching pitch after pitch sail over the outside corner for a called strike, or swinging at junk outside their range. You tell those boys to crowd the plate, and if it means taking one for the team, so be it. A HBP is as good as a hit.
Well it looks like we are right on pace for those 92 wins.
It seems like over the years that a swinging strike has varied. At 1 point it used to be if a batter broke their wrists on the swing, then it was if the bat went past the whole plate and now it seems like if a bat swing crosses any part of the plate. Do I remember it correctly? I wish they would go back to at least if the swinging bat went past the plate, rather than crosses any part of the plate. Its much harder to check a swing in todays games.
I think the owners and players need to comprimise on some of these things: no more old style DH and getting rid of the designated hitter.
Why don't the Nats make a move to get a proven veteran starter? This would take much pressure off the young starters. Do they not have enough talent to trade with?

Rob,
Why is it so hard to believe the Nats won't win 92? You got a lot of time on your hands for me to list some reasons?
Rob,
I'm a new Nationals fan and have just started watching their games, just wanted to tell you I am thoroughly enjoying listening to your broadcast, I can tell you know what you are talking about and you are alot of fun to listen to, without resorting to cuteness or silliness. Anyway just wanted to let you know you are doing a great job!
Hey Rob I heard you say that you are not sold on Daniel Cabrera last night. I agree with you. My uncle (Mike Cuellar) worked with him when he was with Baltimore last year and he told me that Daniel did not listen. He worked with him during spring training and when he saw Daniel pitch during the season he was not doing any of the things they worked on. My uncle (Mike C.) said that Daniel does not listen.

Dibbs -
Thank you for agreeing to join MASN's broadcasts of Nats games. I listened to you on Sunday against the Mets and it was so refreshing to hear your candor on the Nats' players performance, as well as your perspective on the game. Your disagreement with St. Claire's decision to give Zimmermann a scouting report was honest, direct, and coming from you, credible. As a casual fan, my first thought was "so what?". After your explanation - I got it. It's great to actually hear someone add value to the broadcast. Looking forward to the remainder of the season - let's hope Manny can keep these guys from throwing it around the stadium like a bunch of little leaguers, and get back to making the spectacular look routine - that's what the majors are all about.
