Reimold on the homer and playing with Wieters
Nolan Reimold has hit four homers in the Majors. They've been pretty eventful.
One was off Mariano Rivera as Reimold became the first player to hit his first homer off the future Hall of Famer. Another, yesterday, was a three-run, walk-off line shot to left center that gave the O's a 12-10 win over Toronto in 11 innings.
Has he ever hit a game-winning homer that started a celebration like the one that ended Wednesday's game?
"I hit a walk-off in college, but doing it in the big leagues is a whole lot different than way back then. That was pretty much the highlight of my short career up here, for sure.
"I watched Sportscenter and saw it on there. That was pretty fun to see myself on Sporstcenter. It was a special moment for me and we got the victory, too."
Reimold played with Matt Wieters last year in Bowie and this year in Norfolk.
"He's everything the hype is all about. He handles it well off the field. On the field, everyone knows about him. I'm sure he'll the same player he's been his whole career."
Reimold said Wieters scored high as a teammate.
"He's very down to earth and level headed. He handles things as well as you possibly can. He'll make an impact at the plate and behind the plate."
By the way, Reimold is hitting homers in the Majors at about the same pace he hit them in the minors.
Reimold at Norfolk: 9 HR in 109 at bats (1 every 12.11 AB's)
Reimold at Baltimore: 4 HR in 49 at bats (1 every 12.25 AB's)

I think Nolan averaged about 1 RBI every six AB's in his career before coming here. I'm sure he'll catch up the more comfortable he gets, especially if Matt bats behind him for a while.
Reimold is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch.
Random question for you... do you know if MASN intends to televise some AAA or AA games this year? I know that they did a few Norfolk games last year... I would really love it if they did. It is always fun to watch the minor league teams for us more-than-casual fans.

Unfortunately, I don't know MASN's television schedule. You can contact Kate, who has the O's Buzz blog, and see if she knows. - Roch
You know if Reimold keeps at this same rate....he will have 30+ HR by seasons end.
The new blood that continues to be added to the team sure has made the O's fun to watch again.
It's been a lot of fun lately for old Oriole fans. I'm getting a good feeling about the way that Os are being rebuilt. It is especially sweet seeing the farm produce good players.
