Wednesday, Feb. 4, 12:30 p.m.: The Nationals made their debut in D.C. during the 2005 season. Even though the team finished with a .500 record, the club was found itself in first place just before the All-Star break. On July 3, 2005, the Nats and Cubs were tied 4-4 in the 12th inning in Chicago when Brian Schneider stepped to the plate and hit the go-ahead home run to give the Nats a 5-4 lead. Joey Eischen was credited with the win, despite blowing the save one inning earlier.
