Following tonight's 5-3 win over Atlanta, the Washington Nationals optioned left-handed pitcher Atahualpa Severino to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Severino, 26, did not make any appearances during his two-game stint with Washington.
