Overtime, okay, extra innings

The O's and Nats, who play a lot of close games, are now in the tenth inning at Washington tied 3-3. The Orioles scored two runs in the ninth off Matt Capps, who had been 16 for 16 in save situations. He came on to protect a 3-1 lead in the ninth. With one out, Luke Scott reached on an infield single and Adam Jones doubled to right. A Matt Wieters grounder scored a run to make it 3-2 and Julio Lugo blooped an RBI single to right with two outs to tie the game. Alfredo Simon pitched a 1-2-3 last of the ninth to get the game to extra frames. The O's had not scored since the first inning before the two-run ninth. The Orioles are 4-1 in extra innings games while the Nats are 0-3. Today's winner will take the series, two wins to one.
