O's game blog: It's Gonzalez against Lewis tonight at Camden Yards

Going into last night's game, the Texas Rangers had lost 11 of their last 12 games against the Orioles. But the Rangers hit four homers in an 8-1 win Monday night in the opener of a four-game series. The O's need a win to even the series tonight.

Texas had lost seven of its last eight heading into this series, but, over a longer stretch, they were 23-16 before taking the opener.

The Rangers are 24-19 on the road, and they have the most road wins in Major League Baseball. Also, the Rangers are 12-6 versus AL East teams, including a 9-5 road record when playing a team from the division.

The Orioles had a four-game win streak snapped Monday night but have still won 10 of 14 and 18 of their last 24 games. With the top four clubs in the AL East all losing last night, the Orioles remain tied with Tampa Bay for first place, but they are one percentage point ahead of the Rays at .539 to .538.

He has now hit safely in 15 of his last 19 games, batting .290 (20-for-69).
