The Orioles today announced that they have placed right-hander Bud Norris on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 11, with bronchitis. In a corresponding move, the Orioles have recalled right-hander Tyler Wilson from Triple-A Norfolk.
Norris, 30, has gone 1-4 with a 9.88 ERA (27.1IP, 30ER) over six starts with the Orioles this season.
Wilson, 25, went 2-4 with a 3.43 ERA (39.1IP, 15ER) over seven starts with the Tides this season. He was named the Orioles Jim Palmer Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2014, recognizing the club's top minor league pitcher, after leading all Orioles minor leaguers in wins (14) and strikeouts (157) and ranking seventh in ERA (3.67). In 95 starts over five minor league seasons, Wilson went 34-28 with a 3.71 ERA (533.2IP, 220ER) and 474 strikeouts. Wilson's first appearance will be his Major League debut.
