Orioles sign Logan Ondrusek, Chaz Roe designated for assignment

The Orioles today announced that they have signed right-hander Logan Ondrusek to a Major League contract and designated right-hander Chaz Roe for assignment. Ondrusek, 31, went 8-3 with a 2.17 ERA (24 ER/99.2 IP) in 102 games with the Yakult Swallows of the Japan Central League over the last two seasons, including a 3-1 record and 2.45 ERA (8 ER/29.1 IP) in 30 games this season. In 281 career Major League games, Ondrusek has gone 21-11 with a 3.89 ERA (117 ER/270.2 IP) and 214 strikeouts. He last pitched in the Major Leagues for the Cincinnati Reds in 2014. Ondrusek will wear No. 51. Roe, 29, went 1-0 with a 3.72 ERA (4 ER/9.2 IP) and 11 strikeouts in nine games for the Orioles this season.
