Ryan Zimmerman hosting sixth annual A Night at the Park to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis

A Night at the Park 20115.jpg The face of the Nationals, Ryan Zimmerman serves as a veteran presence in the clubhouse, a potent bat in the middle of the order and an anchor at first base. However, he also brings so much more to the club and Washington D.C., area beyond the basepaths.

Zimmerman's biggest impact can be seen through his work to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis through his foundation, the ziMS Foundation. Since its inception in 2006, the ziMS Foundation has made a strong impact on those diagnosed with and affected by MS, a disease that affects the central nervous system. Zimmerman's mother was diagnosed with MS in 1995, which encouraged the establishment of the ziMS Foundation.

To-date, more than $1.5 million has been raised to increase awareness of MS over the 10 years of the organization's existence, according to the ziMS Foundation website.

The major fundraiser hosted each year is A Night at the Park, which will be held for the sixth year on Monday, June 22 at Nationals Park. A more exclusive and intimate experience than in years past, A Night at the Park will feature a full dinner and open bar, a special performance by country star Kip Moore, silent and live auctions, a red carpet entrance and more.

Guests will be hosted at Nats Park's Norfolk Southern Club and will be able to get up close and personal with Zimmerman, his teammates and Moore.
