Span, Bernadina and Solano part of Nats' Game 2 lineup

After sitting out the first half of today's doubleheader with a sore ankle, Denard Span returns to the Nationals' lineup for the nightcap. Span will be back in center field and atop the batting order as the Nats look to sweep the doubleheader and take 2-of-3 from the Twins, Span's former team. Also in the Nats' lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader are Roger Bernadina, who will play left field and hit second, and Jhonatan Solano, who will be behind the plate and hit eighth. Tonight's Twins-Nationals game postponed (with pitching alignment for Sunday)

Davey Johnson was hoping last night's game would get postponed to allow his team to rest and his starting rotation to get aligned in a favorable way. The Nationals skipper was also hoping tonight's game would get rained out, giving his banged-up team another day to rest. Johnson's gotten what he hoped for. There has always been a lot of talk about the potential of outfielder Eury Perez. Last season, for the first time, Nationals fans finally got to see him play in the big leagues. Perez, ranked as No. 7 on Baseball America's list of 10 top Nationals prospects, played in 13 games in September, going 1-for-5 (.200) with three stolen bases and three runs.
