Nats stand pat at trade deadline (Zimmerman, LaRoche out of lineup)

Well, 4 p.m. has come and gone, and there's no word of any trade involving the Nationals that has been completed. The Nats appear to be standing pat at the non-waiver trade deadline, willing to stick with their current roster - for the time being, at least. Again, a trade can still be completed after today's deadline, as long as the players pass through waivers. That would allow the Nats to still look to upgrade their catcher depth over the next month. Update: Manager Davey Johnson wanted to wait until all the wheeling and dealing was done with before posting a lineup. He wasn't completely sure Cliff Lee would still be on the Phillies' roster and able to start tonight's game in D.C. The Phillies hung on to Lee, so he will indeed pitch tonight. But he won't have to face either Ryan Zimmerman or Adam LaRoche. Both of the Nats' starting corner infielders are being held out of tonight's lineup because of back injuries. LaRoche was pulled from Sunday's game after five innings due to back soreness, while Ryan Zimmerman tweaked his back while sliding into home during that same game. Johnson says that Zimmerman is "hopefully a day-to-day thing" and the team is optimistic he'll feel better tomorrow. LaRoche is mostly being held out of the lineup as a precaution. He could return for tomorrow's game. Mark DeRosa will start at third tonight in Zimmerman's stead, while Tyler Moore will play first. Here's tonight's Nats lineup: 2B Steve Lombardozzi RF Bryce Harper SS Danny Espinosa LF Michael Morse 1B Tyler Moore 3B Mark DeRosa C Jesus Flores CF Roger Bernadina P Stephen Strasburg
