#TBT: NL MVP favorite Bryce Harper hits walk-off homer against Braves

scherzer-pouring-chocolate-on-harper-(not-16x8).png With Bryce Harper the heavy favorite to be named by the Baseball Writers' Association of America as National League Most Valuable Player tonight, here's another reminder of just how remarkable his 2015 season was.

He had the third-best batting average in the majors at .330, tied for most homers in the NL with 42 and led the majors in on-base percentage at .460. And that slugging percentage! He dominated the majors by slugging .649 this season. The second-best slugging percentage? Mike Trout, more than 50 points behind at .590.

During a season in which the Nationals faced injury after injury, Harper was a steady offensive weapon. Now, he's being called a shoe-in to win NL MVP, up against Paul Goldschmidt of the Diamondbacks and the Joey Votto pf the Reds.

While there are so many highlight-reel plays - in addition to 42 homers - of Harper's to choose from, here's definitely one of the most clutch.

Harper stepped to the plate in the ninth inning of a 6-6 game against the Braves on May 9. This game had it all: home runs, Atlanta's battle back, a great defensive play by Harper, a walk-off and - of course - chocolate sauce.
