Detwiler "looked very good" in second rehab start for Potomac

Nationals left-hander Ross Detwiler had a solid rehab start for Potomac Saturday, which came back to beat Frederick with three runs in the ninth inning, 6-4 at Harry Grove Stadium. Detwiler yielded two hits, one a solo shot by Ronnie Welty, but struck out four batters over the three frames. The P-Nats now have a game and half lead in the Northern Division with 10 games to play. Mr. Everything Tyler Moore did it again, smacking a clutch RBI double to tie the game in the ninth inning. Jamar Walton crushed a triple to score Moore and George Mason University's Robbie Jacobsen's RBI groundout plated the final insurance run. Detwiler threw 36 pitches and had "really good stuff" according to team source. Detwiler says, "I felt pretty good. I was a little rusty but overall pretty good. I gave up a shot in the first inning, though. But everything is good." He said he will have a better idea Sunday how the hip feels after a night's rest, but it felt fine after the game. Detwiler is hoping to get back with the Nats before the season concludes. He has been on the disabled list with a sore hip since his last start was August 5 at Arizona.
