Fedde, Mills and Barrett toss no-hit gem for Harrisburg

A rare moment to remember for Double-A Harrisburg as the Senators shut out Bowie 2-0 with a no-hitter.

Erick Fedde, Jordan Mills and Aaron Barrett combined for the gem, the fifth such no-hitter since 1987 for Harrisburg. Fedde went six innings, striking out six and walking one. He threw 79 pitches, 50 for strikes, and the lone walk came on a full-count pitch.

Mills went two hitless innings, surrendering one walk. Barrett pitched the ninth and struck out the first batter, then induced two groundouts.

Harrisburg reports center fielder Zach Collier preserved the no-hit gem with a sliding catch with two outs in the eighth inning.

The no-hitter was the first for the Senators since May 9, 2013, when Paul Demny and Ian Kroll combined to no-hit Binghamton.

Harrisburg scored runs in the first and fourth inning. Rhett Wiseman connected for an RBI. He had three hits and has a hit in each of the first seven games of the season. Drew Ward had a sacrifice fly to score the first run of the game. Austin Davidson had a hit in the first inning and is now 10-for-16 to begin the campaign.

Harrisburg is 7-1 and has won four in a row. Tonight in game two it is right-hander Sterling Sharp against right-hander Hunter Harvey.
