A quick look at some of the first half numbers for the Baltimore Orioles - the good, the bad and the ugly: 0 - Number of passed balls allowed by Orioles catcher Matt Wieters. Obviously, this leads all of Major League Baseball starting catchers. 1- Number of Orioles All-Stars. Matt Wieters represented the O's in Arizona and has been one of the bright spots for the team this season. 3 - Number of homers designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero has hit since May 1. 4 - Number of quality starts Baltimore starters have had since pitching coach Mark Connor left the team June 14. They had 32 quality starts with Connor on the coaching staff. 5- The longest winning streak of the season for the team, from May 21-26. 6- The number of players on the team with more extra base hits than cleanup hitter Guerrero. 7 - How many more wins the O's have at the All-Star break in 2011 over 2010. 8 - Number of stolen bases for right fielder Nick Markakis, his most at the break since 2007. 9 - Days that Baltimore has been in first place during the 2011 season. 11 - Number of times the Orioles have been shut out. 13 - Number of homers for center fielder Adam Jones at the break. He has hit 19 the each of the last two seasons. 16 - Number of games the team is under .500 at the break. 17 - Number of runs Orioles pitching surrendered to the Washington Nationals on May 20, the most they have given up in a single game this season (made all the more humiliating because it was against the Nats). 18 - Number of games out of first place in the American League East at the break. 19 - Markakis' hit streak, a season high for the team. 20 - Number of homers for third baseman Mark Reynolds, which leads the team. Also the number of errors for Reynolds, which also leads the team. 25 - Average age of the principal Orioles starters in 2011. 27 - Number of games that Guerrero played for the Orioles before he drew a walk. 39 - Number of games that second baseman Brian Roberts manged to play in the first half. 82 - Number of wins PECOTA (the Baseball Prospectus forecasting system) predicted for the Orioles before the season started. 107 - Number of hits for Nick Markakis so far, leading the team. .219 - Shortstop J.J. Hardy's Isolated Power (ISO) score, which ranks first among all major league shortstops. 4.77 - The team ERA, dead last among AL pitching staffs. .839 - Reynolds' team leading OPS. $15.25 million - Amount of money being paid to first baseman Derrek Lee and Guerrero, arguably two of the three worst hitters on the team.
