Mike Wright has been scratched from tonight's start at Triple-A Norfolk and replaced by Steve Johnson.
I'm told that Wright isn't hurt, leading to speculation that he's headed to Baltimore. We're waiting to find out.
Wright, who's on the 40-man roster, is 3-0 with a 2.64 ERA, nine walks and 30 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings. The Orioles think he could be effective in the back end of the bullpen with an upper-90s sinking fastball.
Rule 5 pick Jason Garcia's velocity is down and manager Buck Showalter compared it recently to a dead arm period in spring training. Could he be headed to the disabled list?
Are the Orioles going to scratch starter Chris Tillman tonight and go with a bullpen game?
Is someone else hurt?
Stay tuned.
Update: Tillman is headed to the bullpen to warm up, so he's fine.
Wright is still in Norfolk.
