The Texas Rangers came up with two runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead, and three more in the seventh, to pull away tonight to beat the Orioles 7-3 and gain a split of the doubleheader at Camden Yards.
The Orioles won the opener 6-5 in a game where they hit three homers to start the game and five on the day.
In the second game, Mike Napoli's RBI triple tied the game 3-3 in the fifth, and then he scored the go-ahead run on an Elvis Andrus RBI single. Earlier, Josh Hamilton hit a two-run homer in the first.
It was his sixth homer of the series, and 15th on the year, as he homered in three of the four games of this series.
The Orioles scored three unearned runs in the last of the second to take a brief 3-2 lead as Texas made three errors in that frame.
Tommy Hunter took the loss, giving up five hits and four runs with one walk and seven strikeouts. He is 2-2 on the year with an ERA of 5.14. Rangers pitcher Derek Holland got the win, allowing four hits over six innings and the three unearned runs.
The Orioles fall to 20-12 on the year and host Tampa in a three-game series that begins on Friday night.
