Adam Eaton named National League Player of the Week

ATLANTA - Outfielder Adam Eaton raced out of the gates quickly offensively for the Nationals, highlighted by a 5-for-5 game Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati. Today he was rewarded for the effort with the National League Player of the Week honor.
Eaton dropped an impressive slash line of .615/.643/1.231 over the weekend in Cincinnati with seven runs scored. He went 8-for-13, with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs. The Nationals won all three games.
The award is all the more impressive in that Eaton was making his return from major knee surgery back in May after suffering the sever injury early in the 2017 campaign.
It is the second time Eaton has won the award. He was named American League Player of the Week while with the Chicago White Sox back in the first week of August 2015.
Anthony Rendon was the last Nationals player to secure the honor, back in August of 2017.
In recognition of his National League Player of the Week award, Eaton will be awarded a watch courtesy of Rockwell.
