Other than slotting Stephen Strasburg in as tonight's starter, Nationals manager Matt Williams didn't touch his lineup card from last night, a lineup that produced 15 runs. That means Jayson Werth remains the leadoff hitter and Anthony Rendon sits for the second consecutive night while Danny Espinosa starts at second base.
Espinosa was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored in last night's win. He's hitting .385 (5-for-13) with two homers and four RBIs in six games (two starts) on this road trip.
Werth collected a double, a single and a walk in six plate appearances last night, scoring all three times he reached base.
Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits over six innings in Colorado's 5-4 win at Nationals Park on August 7. Espinosa went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored off the left-hander in the game.
Ian Desmond and Ryan Zimmerman also delivered RBI doubles off De La Rosa in the loss. Hitting fifth and sixth in last night's win, the two veterans combined to be 5-for-9, with two doubles, two walks and six RBIs.
De La Rosa is 2-2 with a 6.62 ERA while surrendering nine homers in 10 starts at Coors Field this year.
Strasburg hasn't fared much better in the high altitude. The 27-year-old right-hander has lost both his starts in Denver, yielding seven runs over 11 1/3 innings.
